I love the funky stuff on Nukleuz yellow. There isn't much of it but it's excellent.

Darren Emerson is down with some funky stuff........

Anything on subliminal tends to be good as well.

well, where the fuck do you want me to start

Any idea what kind of House you're looking for as there are so many extreme variations? I'll do a very wide and broad sweep through DJ's, Artists and Labels

For the bigger, US vocal stuff opt for Masters At Work (MAW Records) stuff on Yellorange, Ibadan and maybe even Subliminal though I don't feel they're as hot as they once were.

Old School US; Todd Terry, DJ Pierre, David Morales, Robert Owens - though he's back on the up again!

For deeper stuff Charles Webster/Presence is a total master as is Rob Mello, Tiefschwarz, Nick Holder & Ian Pooley. Plus stuff on NRK is always good to look out for, Pagan records, Toko and Glasgow Underground.

For real floor shaking, jackin stuff opt every time for Derrick Carter and virtually anything on Classic records, Basement Jaxx and stuff on Atlantic Jaxx, Cassius (though there new album isn't that hot), Daft Punk and, DJ Sneak, Yousef

French/ funky/ disco crossover?!? - Dimitri From Paris (total master!) or Bob Sinclar

Latin/ New Italo House; Claudio Coccoluto, Cosmo, DJ Pippi

    Dubby; Groove Armada

Dark or Tribal; Danny Tenaglia (and Twisted records), Steve Lawler, Lexicon Avenue (and anything else on Forensic records)

God, I'm barely scratching the surface here!

Tell you what, I'll pass on my new mix. Always pretty varied, bound to be something on there you like.

Since this is the only thread I know anything about. My fave producers at the moment are

Brett Johnson, Tony Senghore, Freaks, Derrick Carter (for all his rubs and dubs as well as his own stuff) Rob Mello, Joshua, East Coast Boogiemen, Mark Farina, Stacey Kidd, Swirl People and JT Donaldson.

Exactly what Simon says! There are so many different sub-genres within "house and funky stuff". Dependent upon what kinda stuff you like.
For your general funky as hell stuff though, try labels like Defected, Subliminal, Sondos and Fluential.

A lot of it's by ear anyway. There are so many independent artists and labels doing some real good stuff atm, you jus gotta look for it.

Subliminal, Defected and the like are a mostly a bit too straight-up, boring, funky house. Delve deeper

aye but for the most part it sounds like they're treading water a bit. 1999 was a really important album for me, it was always gonna be hard for them to follow it up. They still kick ass live though
