    Have any of you ever been on holiday on your own?

    Im seriously considering it, i feel like i need to sit on a beach for a week with nothing but an ipod :cool2:

    I was considering this last year and this year but i rather go with friends. Or even better with a girlfriend"thats if i can get one"!

    I sort of have, I went to Barcelona and stayed with my friend but she was at work all the time so spent quite a lot of the time on my own shopping and on the beach. Got friendly with a few blokes as well one day and ended up going out with them on the night, you've just gotta be confident :)

    Don't think I would have liked being on my own on a night time though, although somewhere like Barcelona in the summer there's loads of Americans go and stay in youth hostels so it's very easy to make friends :)

    I dont think id be that bothered about being on my own on a night time to be honest, bottle of vodka in me room n that :lol:

    My mate has been in the east since Dec 04... went to india, vietnam, thailand, indo, china, kong kong, currently in Australia working doing IT support :lol: for a few months, saving up a few pennies b4 he heads of the west coast of the US. he's going to buy a car then head west from San Fran, thru the rockies, following the great western rail road type journey. i hate him. i want to do it.


    he's been alone all the way, even stayed above Do-jo for 4 months, cleaning thru the day and training 'as a ninja' as he put it at night, free in the do-jo


    bit different from the med - but hey! same difference!

    I did it last year, not a 'proper' holiday, but a long weekend. Was in two minds about what it would be like just on my own, but it was fine, so I'd say take the plunge and do it.

    Ended up when I wanted time on my own it was fine, and you'd be surprised at the people you start talking to in bars, restaurants etc.

    Ive done it loads of times and love it - barcelona, china, peru, america....

    ... You end up meeting loads of people, and being more sociable than you would with people you know.

    All of these have been 'travelling' type holidays though - I wouldnt do it if i was going to sit on a beach or go on a clubbing type holiday.
