    I don't understand why the hole is there.

    Also, if you had shit floating around free inside like that, the cow would die from infection in a couple of days.

    well isnt it just like a human colostomy bag? just without the bag there? Something must be wrong with its "tail end".

    I would assume that the only reason humans get a colostomy bag is for dignity - maybe the farmers dont mind if thier cow has shit all over them.
