Hi:Fi NORTH FESTIVAL GETS GREEN LIGHT FROM COUNCIL

The Hi:Fi Festival featuring Ian Brown, Editors and Maximo Park has been granted a license by the Castle Morpeth Borough Council, thereby starting the official count down to Saturday 27th May when the event will take place at the Matfen Estate near Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

The Angel Music Group proved their credentials in event management during a two day court hearing this week which allowed them to publicly introduce colleagues responsible for sound, traffic, security and health and safety. They are delighted to have won the support of the local committee, authorities and look forward to hosting the first contemporary music festival in the area.

Peter Haywood, the event producer and licensee says:
“We’re delighted to have the support of the council and look forward to an event which is safe, secure and guarantees minimal disruption to local residents. There is no doubt we have the skills and know-how to host an incredible music festival with some of the most legendary names in rock and dance.”

The Angel Music Group created the event to bring something of huge cultural value to the area. Haywood goes on to say “The North East has long been sandwiched between other festival locations such as Kinross which hosts T In The Park and Leeds which hosts the established rock festival. We will give music fans in the area the most unforgettable night of their lives. We’ve also looked to include local talent such as Maximo Park.”

Hi:Fi North will take place from 2pm – 4am on Saturday 27th May in the picturesque Northumberland countryside. As part of the last Bank Holiday Weekend in May, there’s no doubt Hi:Fi will launch music fans head long into the summer festival season. The world’s best DJs and club acts appear on the line up along with the aforementioned bands including Paul Oakenfold, 2ManyDjs, Erick Morillo, Sasha and Digweed and Audio Bully’s.

Hi:Fi will also feature a quality bill of non-musical entertainment.
- Strongbow will present the “Cider House” with an orchard of sub beats provided by DJs such as Switch Live, Digitalism and Barry Ashworth from the Dub Pistol one off opportunity.
- Karaoke stage where festival goers can jump up on stage and sing their favourite records supported by a rock band.
- Climbing wall
- Internet café
- Aerobatics Air display where acrobats perform on the wings of two 450hp bi-planes

Tickets are on sale now subject and are broken into two categories: General Admission (£52.50+ booking fee) and VIP (£75+ booking fee). VIP tickets will entitle guest access to a private arena where they can hang out with the event performers in a private hosted by Hed Kandi.
