    Hi Fi Festival under threat

yet again the local authorities show how 21st century they really

the festival might not get its licence due to complaints and fear from local residents

yeah doubt they'd want a community pissed off compared to a few people who don't even live in the area and will only be there the one night :(

My dad was doing some work for someone who lives over there and she was on about it, saying that there weren't many people who were actually trying to get it stopped and that the council said that even with hundreds of signatures these events usually go ahead and that they had a lot less than a hundred people petitioning and that they basically didn't stand a chance.

The council were happy for it to come because of the amount of money they were expecting for the local economy.

I don't doubt that you did but there are always petitions against any kind of dance music event that goes on and a lot of them still go ahead.

This was the situation about a month back so hopefully it might still be on.

I'm surprised you have any faith in the council after the Love Parade shambles!

Got no idea how that works though, it's further south than where I live.
