    Protection: SafeDisc

    developed by C-Dilla

SafeDisc comes with three key features:
    an authenticating digital signature
    encryption that protects the content
    anti-hacking software

    About the protection:
During pre-mastering the content is encrypted and equipped with authentication instructions. A unique digital signature is then added to the title during mastering. When a user plays an original disc, the authentication software reads the digital signature allowing the program to be decrypted an run normally. The original CD must be in the drive to make authentication possible.
When making an unauthorized copy the signature will not be transferred to the CD-R. So when that copy is run, the signature cannot be decrypted and the program executions fails.

CloneCD can handle this protection. You can also make a copy and apply a generic patch.
There are some CD writers which are able to make perfect 1:1 copies making patches redundant. The best writers are Teac CD-532S and Teac CD-R55S.

    Programs protected by SafeDisc:
    Microsoft Atlas 2000
    Microsoft Encarta 2000
    C&C: Tiberian Sun
    Diablo 2
    Prince of Persia 3D
    Worms 2: Armageddon
