help. I have ridded my system of norton AV, and added pccillin internet security. all seems well, except the fact i cannot update it... ive tried all kinds of network setting etc, but it's having none of it, so now i need ANOTHER av replacement.... suggestions are welcome, not norton, not mcaffe, not pccillin...
yeh.. i was planning to go down the sygate FW route, and had seen panda but was unsure of it's quality... i'll give em a bash
lol *cough* yes *cough* although i was assured it should have worked. nevermind, this panda thing seems quite content for now....
I bet you your *ahem* 'free' sexual harrassment panda won't last more than a week... I've not found a cracked/serialed recent one that has gotten past the third update...
you may be right... it suddenly has program eorros and wont enable auto protection. bah. avg you say?
lol, nice to know my presence is known... nah, i would like to get this panda working again.. tis effective and is still finding spyware that adaware missed. bugger.
lol, i own a relatively new copy of norton IS... but it still fucks up with alarming regularity... i would buy one - and up to now i was suitably impressed with pandas performance, but it's sudden failure has lead me to question it... i dont want to buy it and have it do the same thing. bloody av software. having spent far too much on norton's suite in the past, i am naturally apprehensive.
I have fully converted to AVG now. Still with Zone Alarm though, Sygate is always on your case. Also installed the Tea Timer for Spybot...real time adware notifications! Even HOTMAIL is laced with spyware Its where that doubleclick shite comes from
If Sygate is on your case all the time, then you have a problem... and it's not with Sygate. It could be either: 1, You're version of Windows isn't up to date (ie not SP2, not patched for blaster etc) 2, You haven't configured Windows to be safer (ie Explorer, Media Player, other programs etc all try and 'phone home', Wireless Zero Configuration isn't disabled (unless you're using wi-fi), etc) 3, You haven't been bothered to use the options menu in Sygate, and you don't tick the checkboxes saying 'do this all the time for this application' 4, You've got a trojan. I haven't had a pop-up off Sygate for about two weeks. @ Spud - AVG is canny, also use Housecall every week or so
