Help! Right...I have a data capture application running on the shop floor of my factory. The terminal boxes are Win 98 P3 machines. They are running 98 SE, MDAC 2.6, Jet 4 SP3. The client transaction databases reside on 2 servers, with 5 terminals connecting to each server. The servers run MSDE, and are managed from Enterprise Manager on our main Sequel Server ( MS SQL 7). The clients are pointed to the transaction databases with UDLs ofc. The UDLs test connect successfully with the client databases, but the application times out trying to connect to the database. This is not an application problem, as it has been tested widely elsewhere. Any ideas? I have tried everyting I can think of, from reinstalling drivers, programs, reformat, SQL client tools, etc. I am thinking it might be a named pipe problem, and am trying to get the client to use TCP/IP. Any thoughts ? Thanks Harry
