    Help : Voodoo 3 Owners

    I formatted my hard drive & reinstalled windows & all my software but ive lost my Voodoo 3 video card installation CD!!!
    Agggghhhh! Which means my PC is crap! beyond belief.

    I know...what a stupid thing to do...but i was bored.:dunce:

    Ive managed to download the Voodoo 3 drivers off the net but i need the installation software CD to make it work.

    Any1 got Voodoo 3 CD i can beg/steal/borrow? BUY??

    install the driver through device manager, right click on your card - properties, then re-install driver

    I have managed to download drivers from Dell website, but once ive installed em it asks me to insert Voodoo 3 installation CD to complete process.

    Im runnin Windows 98.

    Will try n download em from Voodoo website instead.

    Downloaded it & installed it, but after restart it warns straight away that video card is not installed properly. Agggh.:spangled:

    Nemore suggestions? I dunno what to try next.:(

    Not really, try going into the hardware manager thingy and installing it in there too.

    i've got a voodoo 3 - had to download the XP Drivers. the file u download should be an .exe so it should install everything u need. The one from the Dell site must be the specific 'restore' cd u get with pre-built machines from the 'bigger' companies.

    Ok, ive accepted the fact that ive screwed my PC.:dunce:

    So, im reccon im just gunna buy a new video card, any suggestions?

    Whats the latest fastest kickass card? That wont cost a bomb.

    before you do that, try this:

    - remove the actual card from the pc (turn it off first though....obviously)

    - reboot fully.

    - shut down again and put the card back in

    when you start windows again it will say new hardware found, and it should find the driver you have installed.

    I had the exact same problem with my modem ages ago, and thats how i fixed it.

    worth a shot.

    Why don't you get windows xp instead of buying a graphics card. It's very likley that yr voodoo will run fine on xp (you will need atleast 256mb of ram and a 700mhz processor).
