HELP - Nass broke my computer!

    My computer is fucked.

It was fine before Nass started fiddling about with it during the early hours of Saturday morning. But now it has gone mega-slow and shuts itself down every time after between about 1 and 5 minutes of usage.

He installed Direct Connect on it and god knows what else he was doing. I wasnt taking much notice. :spangled:

Basically the following message comes up:

This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This shutdown was initiated by NT AUTHORITY SYSTEM.

Time before Shutdown [1 min countdown]

    Message
    The System Process
'C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe' terminated unexpectantly with status code 1073741819. The system will now shut down and restart.

So the timer counts down, the comp shuts down, restarts, and in no time at all the same message appears and the process repeats.

Sometimes instead of shutting down, it goes to a blue screen and says something along the lines of:

    Problem caused by file: drvnddm.sys
    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

It then tells me to use Safe Mode and remove any new hardware or software installations. So i deleted Direct Connect, but the problem still persists.

It also told me on that blue screen to "disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing", but i dunno what that means.

Once or twice after opening Windows ive had a slightly different message saying "LSA Shell encountered a problem and needed to close." This is closely followed by the "system is shutting down" message again.

My brother suggested i use "System Restore" to restore my computer back to how it was before it was broke. I tried that this afternoon, but it hasnt sorted it.

Im only able to write this cos ive gone round me Mams house to use the computer there. Mine wont stay on long enough to write a message. In Safe Mode i cant connect to the internet.

    Help!

Having now read Allies thread in this forum, i think it sounds like its the same thing.

Il try the things suggested in that thread when i get home. Hummels also suggested some patch or other for it.

Perhaps its not Nasses fault after all.

As much as it looks like it was, it wasn't DC. I've installed it on my own (same version from same place) on many people's computers and I've had no problem. Allie was gonna sort it out when he was there cos he said it was some bug

Check the other "Fucked PC" thread. You've defo got the same virus. I've been working on Fathas PC all day(ish) cos he had the same problem. It's a right fucker! Coders who write viruses should be slotted in the most painful way possible!!:fuming:

sounds like he's opened up your pc firewall and you've been infected with the worm that was fucking everyone up a while back.

Your pc isnt broken, it just has a virus (worm) sitting there exploiting a vunerability that makes it shut down all the time.

Use trend housecall online virus scanner, or get the patch from the microsoft site (within the 5 minutes you have before it shuts down each time ;) ) and you'll be ok.

Nothing SHOULD be broken beyond repair.

It is now shutting down before i can even open Internet Explorer, so i have no chance of downloading anything to help fix it.

I downloaded the patch on to a cd on me Mams computer and installed it on to mine. Didnt work.

My brothers spent about 2 hours this afternoon trying to fix it without success.. But now ive dropped him off at the station and hes gone back to Nottingham.

That'll get rid of it. If you're running XP don't forget to disable system restore before you run the removal tool.
There's a couple of critical updates dated 13th April 2004 that you
    should get aswell.

Vin, it came on your computer when I used google. BBC News said it somehow manages to download itself through several search engines on the net.. which I can't get my head around

But I used google when I was at yours.

    Sorry :(
