Help Me Right... bloody copy protection on football manager 2005 is driving me nuts - i own a copy of the game, but like many games it gives me the "CD/DVD emulation software has been detected. Please disable all CD/DVD emulation software and re-start the game." now i have had in the past: alcohol120%, clonecd and deamon tools running on my system but all have since been removed. according to the official SI guidelines ( http://www.sigames.com/sibase.php?type=view&id=137 ) i shouldnt be having any issues. but i am. i look in wintasks, and while yes - there's fookin loads goin on in there, i couldnt put my finger on any of em being cd /dvd emulation software??? bah :bang: this disc is inches away from becoming a frisbee
You also get drive emulation with burning software like Nero - but would it not be easier just to get a patch?
i've looked, they dont have patches for the last two versions of it yet (5.0.3 and 5.0.5) and thanks to a cd copying issue, my brand new, fresh from play.com is... 5.0.3 to start with fucking arsewipes oh yeah, also checked that nero drive image is turned off, so for the life of me i can't see whats doing it
Hmmm... One thing you could try - update the firmware for whatever cd/dvd drives you do have, you never know but it may be something to do with them...?
yeah, something to look into i guess. i've tried it on both my drives and neither will have it, but other than that i just really can't figure it... i mean, all they do is look for running cd/dvd emulation software, i dont know to much about windows task, but even looking through wintasks doesnt show me anything that rings alarm bells...
Maybe not - noticed you said you'd turned Image Drive off, I'd recommend uninstalling it (and Nero if you have to). Log into another user account and try installing and playing, see what happens
if so, he wins anyway... im running house call... i dare say i had better leave it alone for a while (it's got 230 gig + to scan ) after that i'll sacrifice imagedrive and try the new user thing... and report back with my findings
