Sounds like blu-ray is edging it but MoS is right.

PC, hi-def screen and torrents are the best bet at the mo by the sounds of it.

HD-DVD seems to be getting more support

I have a feeling that this will be the eventual standard.

I am not convinced that either will really take off (in the same way dvd and vhs did).

I think we have seen that last major physical format revision for audio and video alike.

    PS3 + HD Telly = Heaven.

Wise investment, got the new bond on Blu-ray and its awesome.

consoles recently only have a shelf life of 4 or 5 years so the next gen stuff can have the newest formats

i'm defo gonna get a ps3 for blu ray when they come down a bit.

as for the war i don't think either will become the stand, every new release will come out on both formats so people won't be thinking i need to get one or the other.

People will buy the player that looks the best or is the best price or which player has the features they want, the format will have no sway on the matter.

I think the only reason one might take the lead is if in time they start releasing higher resolution video and the hd-dvd can't fit the films on a disc because of its lower disc size.

They have developed HDDVD/BR hybrid players.

No need for this discussion.. you can't buy one as of yet however they do exist.

Blu ray would win otherwise.. Sony have tied up majority of the major players to BR
