hard drives

    hard drives

    my mates just bought a new 80gig one, but it has partitions. hes recently put it in, hasnt really added much software n its now sayin its only got 41.6mb free space and a capacity of 1.99gb

    is this to do with the partitions and anyone know how it can be sorted?

    Could try partition magic or similar. Probs easier just to reformat from scratch though

    That will be the space on that particular partition.

    What are the partitions for? Dual boot?

    If not needed, back up and reformat, getting rid of the partitions.
