    Half Life 2

    well.. ive got it...

and it's still installing / registering with steam...

    longest install ever... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

it also appears you CANNOT play the game until you register it with steam (valve's online network) so therefore, someone without an internet connection, cant play it.

    this better be worthwhile. :p

i own all of the half life series including the not so good spinoff add on packs in full retail legit style :p (even counter strike condition zero  )

and the other day i bought rome:total war, depsite having downloaded it already... if the game is that good they deserve the cash

had this pre-ordered for a lifetime now, and it prolongs the wait with this oh so tedious install

    bah.

I've got a legit copy of the original and the mods

just out of interest, are you using Norton Antivirus 2004 or later? That could be why your install is slow...

I was playing with the beta version out of curiosity, but I only played it for 15 mins because it would have spoiled the proper version for me, it was too damn clippy

well, it works... runs smoothly... BUT

the sound is skippier than a double skippy mofo... gonna do some driver updates, etc... see if it makes a difference.

lovely tho... can see me gettin right into this :D

just noticed in steam i now have 'half life source' the original rendered in the new engine. might be worth playing again! :)

if i get it all sorted, these along with counter striike source should keep me pretty entertained :D

and ur probs right about the slow install, NIS 2005 over here :p

anyway, im off to play it... may be gone for a while. :p

its damn good now ive had a bit play on with it properly. still not sorted my skipping problems... think a clean format is in order, dont matter how good the system is if it's rammed with 150 gig worth of shit.

anyway... those man-hack things... fiendish :p

Why don't you just defragment your drive? Re-formatting's a bit extreme...

Just 'buying' a copy now :D

i think my system may be beyond that... it aint been formatted in sooooooooooo long... mostly because i have at least 80 - 100 gig worth of stuff to somehow backup, and it's scattered across 2 drives and more folders than can be a good thing... i often say 'i'll sit down, arrange everythin etc, and get it put right... but i get bored and stop. :p

some files i must have downloaded 5 times, just because i cant be arsed to hunt my folders to see if it's in there somewhere... (yes, very lazy i know :p )

but it's defo now on the agenda, cos i cant be doing with it bein glitchy.

Steam is the way forward, no shops seem to have it.
