music-wise a potentially wicked night, but that 'emp51' thing is horrendous.

Cant understand though why a Hacienda celebration night would be held in Middlesbrough?

Obviously fuck all to do with the club it is celebrating, and more to do with the Empire trying to use the name and booking a couple of old DJ's in trying to make a few quid...

The night was booked through the Hacienda promotions. Obviously they can't hold it at a club that doesn't exist anymore plus they do tour around like any other night does.

The night itself was excellent 808 State teared the place a new arsehole. No show from Shaun like but to be honest I think everyone half expected that. Was a shame though as I really wanted to meet him. It made no difference to the music though, it was how a real retro night should be. None of that Paul Taylor shite.
