HABIT PRESENTS JORIS VOORN | WHQ | FRIDAY 27th FEB

Habit returns to its favourite venue for a very special one-off event:

    UPSTAIRS AT WHQ

JORIS VOORN (DJ SET / BALANCE 014 WORLD TOUR)

Joris Voorn is a producer and DJ from Rotterdam, Netherlands. Raised in a musical family, music naturally became an intrinsic part of Voorn’s life from an early age. Electronic music first caught his attention in the mid-90’s, and he started DJ’ing in 1997. After developing a more focused interest in house and techno, Joris invested in the versatile MC-303 Groovebox and began to experiment with synth sounds and drumloops. Since then, Joris has acquired global appeal for his crossover techno production work, live perfomances and his amazing DJ sets.

In 2007, Joris created his second album, following on from 'Future History'. This new piece of work called ‘From a deep place’ featured many different styles of electronic music, ranging from atmospheric interludes to broken beats, house and deep soulful techno. In the same year, he was also awarded RA Podcast of the year for his seamless 60 minute mix.

2008 was another successful year for Joris, focusing on quality remixes for Slam, Robert Babicz, Steve Angello, Nic Fanciulli and Jerome Sydenham.

2009 sees Joris release one of the most eagerly anticipated mix albums ever - BALANCE 014. Across two discs and using – remarkably – over 100 tracks, Joris constructs a layered and seamless mix of some of the best tech house, minimal and electronic dance music. An epic mix in the very best sense of the word, it achieves the rare feat of combining variety and consistency, making it perfect for trainspotters and dancers alike. The tracks change quickly and quietly, but the beat goes on... and on...and on.

    Nice one.

If you can get his permission again, record his set and get it up on here.

I was gutted when the last one couldn't be rescued.

The fact that we have Joris back for this date makes it even better :)

It’s been a while….. 2005 to be precise; since I actually sorted out a mix done outside of a club and doesn’t involve samples from 80’s records.

However after an overly extended wait I have finally obtained some degree of motivation and supplied a selection of tracks just tipping over the 82 minute mark.

You can now download the mix from the Habit website (www.clubhabit.co.uk) and is located in the mixes section http://clubhabit.co.uk/mixes/

IF DIRECT LINK ON SITE ISNT WORKING CORRECTLY:

You can use the following link to retrieve the file:
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/wovzb8

    Track list is as follows.

    Habit – Scott Udberg – February 2009

Kenny Larkin - Cirque De Soul - Planet E
Bittersuite - Basic Elements Part 1 - Deep Systems Music
Nick Curly - Deep Breath - Plastic City
Josh Wink - Jus' Right - Ovum
    Kirby - Headmovin - Nordic
SumSuch - Latenite Bypass (Manoo Remix) - Urbantorque
Shonky - Coco Feel And Love Shonk - Contexterrior
    2020 Soundsystem - Sliding Away (Johnny D Remix) - 2020 Vision
Alex Flatner - Soul Ca Jones (Mihai Popoviciu Remix) - Circle Music
    D'Julz - Flick It - Clone
Green Velvet - Answering Machine (Mainframe) - F111
    Claude Monnet - 90's - SSOH
X-Press 2 - London Xpress (Cagedbaby Chateau Remix) - Skint
    Dubble D - Temple - 3rd Ear

    Tomorrow :groovy:

World Headquarters is doing its usual weekend thing downstairs and Habit will be upstairs. You will receive a wristband when you enter the club and this will also allow you to go downstairs if you wish.

Obviously it is limited capacity so we are asking everyone to try and get there sharp as there has been a lot of interest with people travelling from various parts of the country and don't want anyone dissapointed. Maybe worth getting to Enigma for the unofficial warm up to have a drink and check out the score with the queue.

    Club opens at 11pm.
