On Friday the 9th of December, Habit presents ‘part one’ of it’s first birthday celebrations with a very special guest, one half of Everything But The Girl and Buzzin Fly records boss – Ben Watt.

Half of multi-million selling duo Everything But The Girl and with a career spanning more than twenty years, Ben Watt's route to international DJ-producer status came after EBTG's superb interpretations of electronica in the mid-nineties (Missing, Walking Wounded, Protection with Massive Attack, Temperamental).

In 1998 he established the seminal London deep house Sunday club and compilation series, Lazy Dog, with Jay Hannan. Lazy Dog folded at the top after five untouchable years of sell-out shows around the world and compilation sales of 100,000

Unfailing in his energy and enthusiasm for music, in April 2003 Ben launched his new independent record label and club night, Buzzin' Fly - a new benchmark on the club scene with a cluster of revered underground hits including his own ‘Lone Cat’, 'A Stronger Man' (feat Sananda Maitreya aka Terence Trent D'Arby) and ‘Pop A Cap In Yo’ Ass’ (feat Estelle) and two best-selling Buzzin’ Fly mix CDs. The label won Best Breakthrough Label at the House Music Awards 2004, and with 5 nominations for this years awards, Buzzin Fly has already established itself as one of the finest house record labels in the world.

From 2002-2005 as part-owner/founder of celebrated new west London nightclubs Neighbourhood and Cherry Jam, he orchestrated the music policy and image of both venues, helping establish their reputation at the forefront of the capital’s club scene

Now a central figure on London's club scene he DJs regularly in the capital at his own hugely successful Buzzin Fly nights, as well as all over the world.

Join Habit on it’s first birthday to witness a DJ at the very top of his game, spinning his trademark soundtrack of sexy, seductive, deep, modern house music. This promises to be a bit special.

PLEASE NOTE. As a thank you to everyone who has supported Habit over the last year, the first 150 people through the door will receive a FREE ticket for part 2 (see separate flyer) of our birthday. The second event will take place on Boxing Day at World Headquarters!

To say Im excited about Ben Watt is an understatement. A DJ who rarely travels north of Watford. Everything he does turns to gold. Absolute honour to have him on. Sure the girls will be out in force for this one :)

Boxing day is a ressies party Vin.

    Scott Udberg
    Ali Finlay
    Simon Quick
    Mark Johnson

Just a big thank you to everyone really. Will be trying to get as many people in for free as possible. If people dont manage to get a free ticket, it will still only the price of a pint to get in. Just want to have a big birthday/xmas party back at where we started with Desyn last year.

I can honestly say, I would not swap our residents with anyone else. They are all extremely talented.

Scott obviously just played Shindig and has had support from loads of top DJ's over his edits.

Mark warmed up for Fatboy Slim and played an absolute stormer on Friday.

Si, is unreal and playing twice in London this year (once at MOS) underlines that.

and Ali is the only DJ to my knowledge has won the IDJ magazine winner competition TWICE.

    Should be really good.

    :)

Very excited about this , we never get to all play together and to do it at Xmas is even better. Each of us has a slightly different style which will keep the music moving and changing all night

To my knowledge this is the first time Ben has ever played the North East. Should be a really special night.

He absolutley oozes class with everything he does.

Boxing day should be fun aswell!

Ben has done a few edits of EBTG tracks and know that he ended his set at The Arches in Glasgow with Missing when he played for Silicone Souls Darkroom Dubs night....

It just happened that the lads said when Ben played for them it was the best night (musically) they have been at for years. Apparantly he was knocking them out towards the end and the place just went right off for Missing.

Hopefully we will have a repeat performance at Habit all going well.
