    HABIT 2nd Birthday - SPIRIT CATCHER & TOM MORGAN - Dec 1st - Cosmic B

    2 years…………

Desyn Masiello, King Unique, Omid 16b, Silicone Soul, Funk Dvoid, Alex Smoke, Kenny Hawkes, Ben Watt, James Holden, Rui Da Silva, Lee Burridge, Tom Morgan, Electric Press, Jonathan Lisle, Neil Quigley, AME, Audiojack……….

And we’re still going. Thanks to the people that have kept coming. Faces new and old. It’s been a funny old experience, one that never really intended to get to this point, but somehow it has…

We draw close to a 2nd year. Older, not a lot wiser.

    SPIRIT CATCHER - LIVE

Belguim duo Tom Sohet and Jean Vanesse are simply a pair of misfits looking for life and love between the keyboard keys and the automated faders. Two kids born into the sounds of the seventies, then immediately grabbed by the cruel talons of music and doomed to seek solution in the groove. Luckily, through the help of well-meaning record labels such as Silver Network, Freerange, Winding Road, Missive, Moodmusic, SAW and 2020 Vision we can all listen in to the frenzied disco workouts through which they exorcise their murky pasts.

After what has been an undoubtedly massive year for Spirit Catcher, their productions spanning a variety of genres, sounds and labels. Almost every DJ currently playing the world circuit having one or more Spirit Catcher productions creeping their way into an evening’s playlist. We thought it more than fitting to see out our 2nd Birthday Celebrations with a special headlining live set by one of 2006’s most successful production teams.

    TOM MORGAN

Twenty year old Tom Morgan has been immersed in music ever since he can remember. From an early age he was influenced by jazz and pioneering electro, which would help to form the diverse and evolving sound he employs now. He has already earnt the respect of top artists across the globe. With Feedback Bookings taking him under their wing, being employed as an A&R for Alternative Route and Desyn Masiello tipping him to be one of the future heroes of 2006 in a DJ Mag poll, the future looks very bright indeed.

In April of 2006 Tom Morgan made an impromptu appearance for Habit. Such was his reception after the untimely cancellation of Desyn Masiello that his return was never in question. After what has been an unquestionably massive year for Tom with gigs spanning across Europe, South America and Mexico we welcome him back to home shores playing a deeper and more innovative opening set into the birthday proceedings.

    SCOTT UDBERG

Having been tipped by King Unique as one of their favourite DJ’s and inviting him to guest at their own Curfew Time night hosted at Turnmills in London, Scott has maintained a steady profile throughout 2006. Maintaining a focus on his residency and promoting Habit as well as putting in solid DJ performances elsewhere. Being asked to return to Shindig twice since 2005 and providing the opening set to several nights, never getting bogged down in discussion over what genre is the flavour of the month, the biggest records at that time, following a trend and always quick to emphasise what he plays as being “just good records”.

Normally associated be laying the structure to an evenings proceedings (later found armed with a bottle of rum and ginger beer), Scott will see out our 2nd Birthday with a very rare late DJ set that will bring to an end a hugely enjoyable year and a true Habit resident finale to 2006…………

ROOM 2: Upstairs Habit resident Si Quick makes a welcome return from London for an all night long set in the Boudior, spinning amongst other things, disco, house, funk and soul.
