yeah it's great, kre-alkalyn is a good one used that and it psyched me up, i use BSN No-Xplode now, it's a pre training drink with creatine, NO and other stuff, it's expensive but by far the best supplement i've bought for energy, stamina and building strength etc.

    hope that helps. :)

no probs, make sure you keep up with protein though it's possibly the most important thing in muscle synthesis, creatine gives you more energy and agression in training, protein will build muscle more :)

depends what your wanting from 'the gym'

in simple terms creatine is an energy source and will allow you to do more reps, it will increase you body size through water retention and increase strength

    aggression from creatine? :spangled:

your wrong with that statement about protein being the most important. its actually carbohydrate, you usually get enough protein as your energy intake increases while training

yeah if you have to much, it gives you an energy boost for sure

if you wanna get bigger, you may as well take creatine. however you have to drink a shitload of water when your on it mind, some reccomend about 5 litres a day. its because the creatine pushes water into the muscle tissue etc.

but as chewy said, you need to increase your carb levels for training, which provides the mass to build muscle upon, i dont train this way at all mind, this is all second hand info :D

    this confused me tho:

i need to know where you can get this magic protein from - if its coming from no-where

i mainly use Isolate principally for recovery, and secondry for muscle build/definition. cant really beat it tbh, however thats only 150 calories per shake.

one of the lads bought some ultra mass gainer last week, 2500 calories per shake, to be drank 3 times a day  heart attack calling if you ask me :D

Totally agree mate, alot of people think protein is the most important thing, when in actual fact its the energy available (carbohydrates or glucose}. As 18 of the 24 amino-acids can be made from the body itself with the use of energy. Plus energy is required in order to transport high amounts of protein against the conc gradient. Thats why i have started taking protein containing lots of carbohydrates, especially as i play football every other day and i eat nearly fuck all.

no i didn't mean agression as making you angry, i meant it gives me more energy therefor im able to be more agressive and push harder at the gym lol it doesn't turn you into a monster.

that's a load of rubbish, read up on protein, protein is the major factor in muscle growth synthesis, carbs gives you energy but will only add empty weight on if abused, protein is also essential after training for recovery.

Carbs are important for energy yes, it all depends on what you want to achieve, for lean muscle growth protein is good, protein shakes with high carb content are normally for hard gainers (those struggling to put weight on)but even now people realise that isn't the best way and companies like AST have produced new hard gainer shakes with protein release systems instead.

its not magic, your taking more food in, food contains protein, your protein intake increases

    its quite simple

you need to stop reading the back of the suppliments. suppliments are not strongly controlled and basically say anything to get you to buy them

aye, a suppose so.. it depend really upon your body as u mention. If someone is carrying more weight or fat then the energy is less essential and they can concentrate on intakin as much protein as possible. Plus someone of a skinny stature obviously lefts less than someone who has more wieght behind them, so the carbs are also to increase the persons wieght (not nessecerly muscle mass) Anyway the way i see it; u need to eat big to get big, and to lift big.

My dads an ex bodybuilder and i train mma with pro fighters, i think their advice on supplements and weight training can be taken a little higher than Chewy off the Nucastle.co.uk messageboard.

i've studied it for 5 years and got a 2:1 degree at the end of it.

yes protein is important, but not as important as carbs. you will generally have enough protein in your diet anyway.

take a look at the meal you eat. how many of them contain meat? i know most of mine do

Not all food contains protein though and most may only have a small amount in.
