Guide to Direct connect for those wanting to download Trance/techno/sets. This is THE BEST software to use for downloading and sharing Dance music. To get it started is a bit complicated but using it is piss. Lots of people have trouble setting it up, so I'm writing a guide as i'm sick of explaining to people on MSN. Firstly Download DC ++ Click the Settings button at the top when you've installed it (looks like a pen ticking a box). Type your nickname (use your Gurn name or something) In the Description box type Trance/Hard House/Techno (whatever you have to offer/are interested in) Connection, click DSL, 56k, Cable or whatever. Now click the downloads tab at the top. Set the directories for you to download music to (Ie c:\My Music or C:\Program files\kazaa\my shared folder) Where it says Public Hubs list URL Paste this in, the default one doesnt work (For if you wanted to find an RNB hub or Porn hub or something, this lists all other hubs available to the public) http://www.hublist.org/PublicHubList.config.bz2 <-- copy and paste that Now click Sharing at the top. Set the uploads to 5 if you have broadband, or 2 if you have 56k. Click Add Folder. This is where you tell Direct Connect which folder(s) you want to be available to the rest of the hub to see and download from. DO NOT PUT PORN IN THIS FOLDER, IF THERE IS ANY REMOVE IT OR COPY ALL OF YOUR MUSIC TO A NEW FOLDER AND SELECT THAT ONE. This folder MUST have more than 2 gigs of Mp3s in also. Now Click OK (have a fiddle in advanced if you wish). Adding it to your Favourites and making DC connect to this hub automatically when you open it (highly reccomended, saves alot of hassle every time you open DC). Now there should be a yellow star icon at the top. Click it. A new empty box will open. Click New at the bottom right of it. In the Name Field type Oldominion. In the address field type Oldominion.kicks-ass.net In description type Trance, Hard House and Techno. Ignore the rest, click OK. Now you should have a new entry in your Favourites box. At the top of this box should say Oldominion - Trance Hard House Techno then further along the server address. To the very left of all this is a box, tick it. This means this is your default hub, saves hassle typing in all the crap or even finding it in the favourites list. Now double click this entry (just click where it says Oldominion twice) and it should connect to the hub. If it says Hub is full, keep hitting the Retry/Refresh green Recycle button at the top next to the Favourites icon until it connects. You shouldnt have any problems. To search click the magnifying glass, dont search quicker than 5 seconds apart! Any error messages will come up in the main chat so if you're wondering why something isnt working, check there amongst the people chatting. If you want to view a certain person's files, IE mine, find Nass in the list if I'm connected and right click, Get File List. Et voila, you can view all that is shared by that user! From now on it's piss, enjoy! This is genuinly the best way to download and share (mainly Trance) dance music and it is also great for sets. DO NOT BE A DICK IN THE MAIN CHAT! They ban you. I've been there, on DSL they banned my IP and i had to properly suck up to the mods as it was quite a bad thing to lose access to. Any problems PM me and i'll give you a hand.
SURELY you have more than 2 gigs if you have broadband? Open My Computer, C Drive. Press CTRL and F, type *.mp3 Highlight all the results and press properties. Surely they all sum up to 2gig +? If so, shift them all into one folder and share that. If not, get a new PC and download loads off kazaa when you've got a bigger hard drive.
U must pay lots of attention to this board Nass ! Why would i want a new PC ?? Is it because i only have about 5/6GB HD anyways - is it because everytime i install something it more or less fucks the PC up ?? Is that why when i get a set i copy it onto CD and wipe it ?? READ PEOPLES POSTS AND STOP SEEING THINGS

Yeah I just remembered that which is why I wrote the last bit about downloading shit off kazaa to pad up your MP3s so you can get in when you get a new PC.
I need a new PC if im going to get anywhere with downloading anything and copying it onto CD and the likes ! This one's doing a job at the moment but its always cocking up !
the oldominion hub has 700+ people now...faster connections and more tunes tranceaddict hub only has 300+
yep it is much better than TA hub..TA hub used to b the best one but oldominions has got much better.loads more people comin in it...hes now gettin up to 800 people in his hub
i downloaded that thing once ages ago whilst talking to you on msg, but i still aint figured out how to use it
