    Gta4...

Isn't going to feature any aircraft for fear of people recreating 9/11 scenes.

    Bullshit.

I know if i was gonna perform some terrorist attack I'd want to practise it 3 or 4 times on my playstation before hand.

Apparently a lot of it is based on New York.

Pissed the mayor off for some reason...

Yeah its an exact copy, they just changed the names haha

Mayor Michael Bloomberg's worst fears might come true because the new Liberty City is directly modeled on 4 out of 5 of New York's burroughs. Besides, Brooklyn is now called Broker, MetLife Building is GetaLife Building, and yes - the Statue of Liberty is named Statue of Happiness. On the whole, the city appears smaller but more jam-packed than San Andreas...

And, the main protagonist is a guy from Eastern Europe called 'Niko Bellic,' who arrives in the US after his cousin Roman brainwashes him, tells him of amassed wealth, cars, girlfriends, et al. Alas, Niko's been taken for a ride too long for him to digest...

And yes, GTA IV will have some sort of MULTIPLAYER component, although it won't be massively multiplayer as was rumored.

Besides, the new RAGE engine is expected to offer more fluid character animation. Ditto for non player characters. Set in present times, the game boasts a fitting soundtrack. Also, unlike San Andreas, no load times are required for characters to enter/exit buildings.

The flip side though, is there are no planes or choppers for fear of enacting a 9/11 sort of scene. The good news is that motorcycles abound.

I heard there was no planes because it's all based in one city. You hardly need a plane to fly from brooklyn to manhattan.

Pity, I loved flying the helicopters in San Andreas.

Though if it's more compact that's better, because it used to take fucking ages to drive around SA.

San Andreas was nowhere near as good as Vice City.

Has there been no pictures or anything released?

The previews I've read have just said 'planes' are not included, no mention of helicopters not being in it..

Why is it fine to put out loads of games that specifically use violent historic events such as the Normandy beach landings as entertainment but if a game even makes it possible to recreate 9/11 (even though I'm sure the map wont event include the NY WTC) people get edgy as fuck?

How many years is it before it's ok to make money or have fun based on tragic events?

I wonder if people would mind putting out a game that allows you to recreate operation shock and awe, I bet few people would complain despite there being far more casualties.

    Absolutely right.

I mean, GTA (in the early days anyway) has always been pretty controversial, this seems like pointless pandering bollocks.

I'll still be getting it though :D
