Graphics Card I have a shite graphics card that is built in with motherboard, a mate is going to be giving me his old card. He says I need a PCI slot, I have sussed they are the white slots (please tell me if that is wrong). I guess I put card in slot, then what?
Sweet. I though there may of been a problem with my computer wanting to use the built in graphics card.
Just got told if I have a PCI slot for a graphics card, my mate would give me his old one. Keyed PCI slot into google & it told me to look for white slot about 10cm, which I found.
is it a new motherboard? older graphics cards (as in a good few years) were PCI then they were replaced by AGP graphics cards , and in recent years PCI-E (PCI Express) is the new, faster standard. newer motherboard now only have PCI Express
If its PCI-e then fair enough, if its PCI.. then its gonna be a heap of shit. My voodoo 2 was pci. and that was about 8 years ago lol
it was only about 9 month ago since i installed my 2 8800 SLI ultras into my desktop - and that was kind of cutting edge of home graphics at the time, it fucking isnt now! was a nice score selling one for 350 quid tho
