    Graphics Card Upgrade

    Right, i want to play some games on my computer, so i will need a new graphics card. Which is best?

    I dont want to spend too much, around 100 quid is all i have.

    System Spec -

    AMD XP2200
    512 Ram

    Radeon 9800 or 9800 pro given your budget - dont accept ANYTHING less. Trust me.

    i think i might stretch to a GeForce FX 5900 XT. They are only £130.

    just out of interest

    what is the BEST graphics card out at the minute? i used to be in the know about this sort of stuff when i was into gaming (even though i never had the best card or anything).. but what is it now?

    as far as im aware it's the new radeon x800xt... although saying that, the geforce fx6800ultra pretty much matches it, as a rule if ur going that high up the graphics card scale there aint gonna be much between the top contenders. i always tend to go for nvidia's geforce series just because i always have, they are well supported, plus with my last purchase i knew i could buy the cheaper fx 5600, flash the card's bios and turn it into the pro model :D

    9800 pro is a great card, there is nothing that it can't play well but you may well find that your processor will really hold it back.
