Just goes to show the difference between being an England International and playing for a top 4 side and someone who half the country couldn't care about....

Oh aye i forgot that part, he was shitting himself inscase the kid knew kung fu and his 4 mates couldn't help him ;)

I think Marlon King deserves a bit of sympathy though. He must have been deeply upset, i mean, he used the "Do you know who i am?" line and was probably told no. Massive ego broken. You can see why he lashed out the poor guy. :(

He can look on the bright side- at least he won't have to ask women if they know who he is anymore.

"We have to follow the rules and regulations," said Dave Whelan, Wigan's chairman, after King was found guilty at Southwark Crown Court, "which means we will have to give him 40 days' notice that his contract will be cancelled.

"He is absolutely sacked. We will not tolerate football players who get sent to jail for 18 months. As far as we are concerned, he is finished with football at Wigan Athletic."

It doesn't rain but it pours.... UNLUCKY.

To be fair, he'd be sacked from any job if he got slammed up for 18 months.

I'm surprised most clubs aren't a bit more hard line with some of their players with stuff like this. If an employee of a company acted like some footballers (Barton & Bellamy come to mind as other examples of grade A wazzocks), they'd be sacked straight away.

It should be standard imo, if they get banged up or get convicted of a serious offence then they should be sacked indefinitely imo. However, we see with the likes of Barton etc... they do their time, come out & continue to earn an obscene amount of money after ruining someones life by dragging them through the press after beating them up (for example), not to mention the likes of Lee Hughes, still able to sign for Notts County after spending three years in jail for causing death by dangerous driving?
