Goodgreef NW Preston - 24/11/07 - MAURO PICOTTO!

GG in November is back with another immense party for the end of term and Goodgreef finishes the year in style, again fronted at GG’s Preston stronghold 53 Degrees! The line-up’s keep on coming thick and fast in this northern city and the November gig is equally as special, headlined by a man who has come to show quality in the modern rave world, Italian sensation Mauro Picotto!!!

Although Mauro isn’t a regular appearer on British shores, this doesn’t undermine his huge global profile. Debuting his first gig at Goodgreef NW, as well as having not played in the north west for almost a year, he’s sure to please the GG crowd. Week after week thousands of up for it clubbers can’t get enough of his pounding techno grooves, drooling at his fast and furious beats! Whilst he struck his notoriety off the base of tech trance anthems ‘Lizard’ and ‘Iguana’, he changed direction quickly in the early part of the century and began focusing on gilt edged techno! The Italian’s pedigree has been increased further with the development of his own Ibizan party over the last few years, Meganite! Based at the world’s biggest club Privilege, it has literally had thousands upon thousands showing up every week to hear Mauro and star guests like Fergie, John Acquavia and Marco Carola, bringing to Ibiza Mauro’s relentless sound. That sound now comes to GG in Preston, and it’s sure to be furiously lapped up by the clubbing throng!

In support for Mauro is GG’s Mr. Versatility, Adam Sheridan! The man who has been there right from the start, Sheridan is that rare commodity, a DJ who can literally play across the board and tailor his sound to the needs of the clubbers in an instant. With a trajectory mirrored by GG’s own rapid rise, Adam has straddled the djing a-list on account of huge talent, and recently the skill at which he has incorporated the technology of the future into his performance, most notably with his use of Ableton throughout his sets. Remixing and reediting off the fly, he’s garnered praise from DJs, journalists, promoters and more importantly the clubbing masses week after week! GG are sure that this is the man who can balance the euphoria of the GG sound template and Piccotto’s intensity together!

In support for Mauro is another GG Preston debut in the form of John Askew! John is without doubt one of the hottest tech/trance producer/djs in the world. His record labels Discover and Discover Dark have given birth to some of the most exciting trance and techno records of the last 6 years – including John’s latest single “Chime”. With the huge support from the likes of Tiesto, Paul van Dyk,
Eddie Halliwell and Armin Van Buuren it’s easy to see how popular the Discover sound is. The last 18 months has seen John play prime time sets at some of the world’s coolest and largest dance music festivals and has also seen him headline clubbing venues all over the world. His unique sounds have gained him the respect which has enabled him to make countless guest appearances on high profile radio shows including several guest slots and an Essential mix on BBC Radio One. GG are sure that this is the man who can balance the euphoria of the GG sound template and Piccotto’s intensity together!

Also playing is Black Hole’s tech-trance master Richard Durand! Recording for Tiesto’s imprint, Richard has shown his pedigree with an unerring barrage of tech trance monsters, his productions and remixes are stamped with lots of unique touches, lavishing tech edged grooves to euphoric stompers and fusing hands-in-the-air breakdowns to hard riffs. He’s been caned by all the usual suspects, PVD, Eddie Halliwell, Judge Jules and Lee Haslam and his dj sets are equally as breathtaking. After destroying GG Blackpool in August and little sibling Junior G in June it’s another point ofr him to demonstrate his skill to the GG crowd!

The final component in the main room is none other than long standing GG resident Shan.
He continues to represent GG across the globe with his trademark stomping tech trance and groove flecked techno. He whips up a storm on every floor he plays, balancing superior party starting warm-ups alongside peak time room closing sets, and having never failed to excite at every other GG, it’s a certainty he’ll continue his run here!

The house room features none other than Sankeys and Disco Electronica residents OD Muzique, who appear after a summer of rocking Pacha Ibiza, Toolroom Knights and Godskitchen. They are joined by GG original house resident Kris James who takes on GGNW original Paul Flintoff, also local heroes Michael Godsmark and Curious Hifi DJs.
