On Saturday 3rd November following months of top secret preparation Goodgreef are going to put on a showstopper of an event when we celebrate our birthday, the Magnificent 7th. Thundering back into our original hometown we are putting on our biggest party yet, a huge underground and unique event located quite literally beneath the streets of Manchester, providing a spectacle that has never before been witnessed in our scene. Hooking up with kindred spirits “The Warehouse Project” as they enter their second scintillating season (after tearing up the rulebook in 2006 when they turned a disused brewery into one of the most original club events of the 21st century) we are taking the latest post-industrial structure to be transformed by the Warehouse team – a huge subterranean railway arch beneath Piccadilly Station – to put on arguably the biggest party at this new venue. Previously used as an unofficial air raid shelter in WW2 but now kitted out with crystal clear Funktion One sound, a state of the art lighting and multi colour laser rig plus huge visual projection screens this underground enclave will provide a jaw dropping canvas for over 2000 people to celebrate our Magnificent 7th birthday event. A party of this magnitude calls for a line-up equally as immense and that’s exactly what our fans will get with the world’s biggest DJ in attendance, Paul van Dyk, plus homegrown hero Eddie Halliwell and a selection of the fastest rising new talent ever put on one bill in the UK – Sander van Doorn, Adam Sheridan and John O’Callaghan. Completing the line-up is the newest queen of bosh Tylor Leigh and Native hotshot Matt Everson and together they will combine to ensure that this party eclipses all else. Considering how it all began – a crazy little party for friends in a country hall in a nature reserve beside a motorway at the turn of the millennium – who in their right mind would of thought that seven riotous years later we would be still standing, let alone become one of the UK’s most iconic nights?! Throughout this rapid ascendancy we’ve tried to stay to true to our original ethos: to play the most exciting party starting new sounds for the most up for it people; to support new faces and push through the best new talent; and to retain a cheeky underground edge. Culminating seven incredible years we still want to push boundaries and with this event we are going to take things to a whole new level! MTV Dance @ Goodgreef’s Magnificent 7th MTV Dance is the UK’s only TV channel dedicated exclusively to dance music. It broadcasts 24 hours a day on the Sky Digital and Virgin Media platforms. Core artists include Faithless, Orbital, Basement Jaxx and The Chemical Brothers and the channel also showcases some of the UK’s most exciting new talent. MTV Dance will be coming to Goodgreef’s 7th Birthday, part of the Manchester Warehouse Project series of events. The crew will up there to celebrate with one of the most up for it crowds in the UK. They will be interviewing the DJ’s and shooting all the action on the dance floor - so make sure you look your best on the night as you could find yourself on MTV Dance! p.s should work for Goodgreef me like
