    I use Titliest DCI irons and Callaway metal woods :cool:

    Go for a cavity backed iron and not a straight blade. Makes it easier for starting.

    You'll get a decent set 2nd hand.

    Local pro shops always have second hand sets available and you can normally have a hit with them.

    I don't know many of the clubs local though.

    i think my dad got a couple of decent sets l;ying about somewhere that he will want rid off, not sure of the make tho.

    make isnt important if your just testing the water with the sport

    i use;;

    cleveland launcher driver
    cleveland launcher fairway wood

    cleveland ta6 irons 3-9
    cleveland ta6 wedges (pitch, sand)

    but im getting some callaways soon

    if you're wanting to start off, try something like "ping" they make steady irons ...

    Go American Golf I'll find out where it is exactly, but I think it's in Gosforth somewhere. We always pass it on our way to the course at Gosforth, so it must be there somewhere(ish).

    My mate got a full set for 200 quid, quite good quality aswell considering, they're only 200 brick like.
