    Goalkeepers

Where have all the great British goalkeepers went?

We used to have some crackers - Clemence, Shilton, Woods, Seaman, Southall, Bonner, Leighton, Goram to name just a few ... now we've got David James, Shay Given (who is good before anyone starts), Paul Robinson & Rab Douglas :(

The premiership and SPL is full of average foreigners (Klos exscluded :( ) --- Surely we can have better or keepers just as good as Cudicini & Lehman, ffs, even American keepers are in nets ;) for one of the UK's top sides.

    What's going on?

    Re: Goalkeepers

Alas, it is a sorry state of affairs:(

Like you say, we have James, who's around 33......and....well, there's Chris Kirkland of Liverpool - but he's had more injuries than saved shots of late. It's a sign of the shite standard that he is like our second choice keeper when he hardly gets a game at Liverpool.

Robinson has been poor of late, confidendce low what with Leeds plight etc.

It all paints a sorry looking future for between the sticks:(

Who will be Englands number 1 at Euro 2004? Surely not James.

We have Rab 'fucking drap the baw' Douglas. Total clown of a boy.

Does none of the kids want to play in goals these days? I blame Beckham. :p :D

I used to play in goal for our school team, reflexes as quick as a cat:D

I'm rueing the day I gave up the gloves for a career in IT:(

As for England, I can't think of any good young keeper coming through the ranks...looks like it will be James. I quite like him, he's in great shape and is a good shot stopper. I know he makes mistakes, but we got no one else:eek:

Yes, but there all past it though.

Seaman - far too old and slow - get a haircut and shave that tash you bent biker lookalike.

Hislop - Shakie Shaka what a knacker.

Walker - Dear me, dwarf with a He-Man haircut.

    :D
