Global Gathering 2006 - A Record Breaker!! Right then, Who's getting involved in the group hug? You can count me in. lol GLOBAL GATHERING 2006 - A RECORD BREAKER! Friday 28th July 5pm – 2am Saturday 29th July 2pm – 6am Long Marston Airfield, Stratford Upon Avon Global Gathering 2006 will be an official record breaker in more ways than one: it will be the BIGGEST EVER UK dance weekender with an increased capacity of 45,000 and it will assemble more superstar DJs to one event than ever before when 175 of the world’s biggest names congregate at the Long Marston Airfield on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th July. And it doesn’t end there: guests will be invited to relive that ‘summer of love’ euphoria you only experience at outdoor dance events and set a brand new world record for the largest ever group hug. On Saturday afternoon DJs and guests alike will rally together in one almighty huddle to beat the current record held by 5117 students from Ontario, Canada who hugged for 10 seconds. An official application has been made to the Guinness World Records organisation and guests who take part in the hug will all make it into the history books. Global Gathering organisers have done everything to ensure this year’s event supersedes anything that’s gone before it. The awe-inspiring line up which features demi-gods such as Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Erick Morillo, Audio Bully’s, Roni Size, Sasha & Digweed Rob Tissera, and Paul Oakenfold has been bolstered with three of the greatest live performers in dance: 1. Daft Punk have not played in the UK for nearly ten years and will be showcasing their greatest hits in on a stage that incorporates their dazzling visuals show 2. Fatboy Slim has developed a means for making his live sets even more entertaining – guests are given 3D spectacles which enable them to see smiley faces and 3D visuals all around them 3. Groove Armada are bringing their live band with brass section to help deliver their hit records in even more style New for 2006 is Silent Disco, hosting their largest ever party at Global Gathering in a marquee equipped with 3500 headphones. The novel concept, which showcased at Glastonbury 2005, allows guests to party in silence: music is blasted through headphones not sound systems. The audience make a bizarre spectacle as they dance or sing along to their headphones choosing from two music channels that allow them to switch between the likes of Nirvana or Frank Sinatra. Silent Disco will take place on the Friday only and won’t close it’s doors till 5am so when the main arenas have switched off at 2am the party can continue in silence keeping the campers and most importantly local residents happy! This year’s event will also feature several other new attractions including: • An outdoor cinema situated nr the campsites screening cult movies throughout the event • Pod pads – a quirky more secure alternative to camping where guests hire brightly painted wooden huts equipped with camp beds, lights, door locks • A climbing wall and bungee jumps - for those who want to witness the event from a great height • Lockerbox – security guards watch over lockers where guests can keep their personal belongings The event will also feature musical firsts. This is the first time Defected Records – one of the premier house music brands in the world - will have their own arena where guests can enjoy Junior Jack and Kid Crème as well as Masters at Works, Kenny Dope Gonzales. Strongbow are bringing their immensely popular Ciderhouse to the event: the stylishly decked out arena features a super cool line up of alternative DJs and live acts including the likes of: Crazy P, Justin Robertson and the Freelance Hellraiser. Firm favourites return including Carl Cox & Friends– techno arena, Bedrock – progressive arena, Air - breaks, Polysexual – hard house, Accelerated Culture – drum and bass, Godskitchen –euphoric dance. Sexy house promoters Hed Kandi have been invited back by popular demand and will be in charge of the VIP, dressing it in their salubrious manner. Radio 1 will also be broadcasting the event live with Pete Tong’s Friday night Essential Selection, Judge Jules’ Saturday night show and a specially extended Essential Mix. Further developments for the event also include the launch of the official MySpace page, which can be viewed at: www.myspace.com/globalgatheringfestival Also launched is the GlobalGathering game, which offers the opportunity to win VIP tickets to the whole weekend with full camping. Sorry but can you limit the amount of threads please? If you post anymore we are going to have to considering changing nucastle.co.uk to globalgathering.co.uk
Why didn't you threaten Superfly like that?????? If you'd taken action earlier I wouldn't have paid him £10 for coaches that you're not allowed to drink/smoke/wee on and that don't even turn up
