    Glade 2009

Man what a f**king brilliant weekend.

It rained. As we thought it might and hoped it wouldnt. But it seemed to rain itself out every day by the mid afternoon and kept dry all night.

I still dont see why this isnt much more popular than it is, for people around these parts - If you like electronic music its an absolute treat.

Ignore the headline acts, or just take some minor interest in them because they DONT matter. You'll hear and see things that you just DONT get anywhere else without being into really obscure sub cultures.

We spent most of our time on the Origin stage or Psy Forum where it was basically prog trance or psy trance/breaks the whole time. Im still amazed that modern psy isnt as popular as it should be cause its absolute quality stuff - People seem to think its cheesy goa or really intense 'psychedelic' stuff but that only represents the outside edges of it just like say hard house or tech trance does with the regular trance scene.

    Highlights for me :

    Booka Shade (LIVE)
    Burn in Noise
    Chromatone
    Kasey Taylor
    Mood Deluxe (Awesome!)
    Scorb
    Tristan
The Commercial Hippies (Name sounds shit, absolute grade A though!)
    Tongue and Groove
    Paul Taylor
    Aphid Moon

Some of the tents were playing the most insane music you could ever imagine with people ramming them full. It all went completely over my head but Dubstep, Breaks and really offside gabba type stuff was very popular.

In the evening there was a big massive outdoor circular 'stage' with fake burned out tree's on it and a 'tower' in the middle of the stage. The whole thing was rigged up with pyrotechnics so every few seconds massive bursts of flame were coming out of it. Complete spectacle.

The place was filled with 99.999% utterly sound people. All dressed down and having fun - no place for any jumped up pricks and probably less chavs than you could count on one hand. The whole place absolutely stank of green, and everyone was absolutely off their chops with nobody giving any bother at all.

We had to leave on Saturday since i had work today, but im guessing Rossy and Mamb0 are still there, and still awake ;)

My second year there, and i'll be going for the next one - 10/10 !!!!! Honestly i'd reccomend this to anyone. Forget what 'scene' your into - this is THE nuts.

Some things are worth it ;)

Besides, other people move heaven and earth to go to the dam, berlin or other parts of the UK to see popular techno/trance/house events.

125 + booking fee i think. My brother got his last September or something (for this years event) so you can get them way ahead of time if need be.

You get to thursday to sunday for that - which is good value in my book. Music starts on the friday, but it goes until 6am for 2 days, and then to about midnight on the sunday night i think.

yeah it looks decent to be honest but id only go cos LOTS OF PEOPLE DONT GO

you would spoil the flavour of the event if it gets mainstream... just look at what habit has done to The Tyne :(

Wow - TOTALLY Well worth it.

I'm of the opinion that I wouldn't want this festival to get overly popular. I like that it feels like a niche event.

Wish I had more stamina like. Could have seen more stuff then!

I went two years ago when it was in a different field and the effor they put into it was unreal - it isn't like any other festival and the quality of most of the music, even if you don't think you're into it, is amazing - Psy Trance on the crispest sound system you'll ever hear is great fun.
