You tried booting with the XP cd and repairing/reinstalling XP?

What, and restarting 9 times to check your e-mail isn't?

Pop the XP cd in, restart, and it should load an install menu

Press 'enter' to 'set up windows XP now'

    Accept license agreement

Select XP and press 'R' to repair.

    Job, good 'un, etc :D

if it's taking AGES to load and sits at the WindowsXP Screen - it's loads all it's drivers and shit at that point.

when it does boot - uninstall as many of your systray applications as possible - also get some spyware/anti virus stuff to clean it up..

    turn sys restore off beforehand....

u never know... i might bail back to yours sunday AM for some tea and give frazzled tech support....

    start - run - msconfig
goto the startup tab and see how much shit is loading up when your machine boots up.
Clear the shit you dont need booting up and see if that helps.

    Boot using the XP cd..

    Launch recovery console..

    Type CHKDSK /R

Almost always works for problems like this..
