getting my pc to start.. takes about 9 restarts since about a week ago.. i blame random cunts playing with it at parties.. gets to the black xp loading screen and freezes most of the time.. if fine when (and if) it starts.. ideas geeks? cheers..
What, and restarting 9 times to check your e-mail isn't? Pop the XP cd in, restart, and it should load an install menu Press 'enter' to 'set up windows XP now' Accept license agreement Select XP and press 'R' to repair. Job, good 'un, etc
shutup. i only turn it on now n again to download tunes at home.. i do everything else when im supposed to be working.. cheers i'll try and dig out the cd later... but bambu will probs come up trumps.
if it's taking AGES to load and sits at the WindowsXP Screen - it's loads all it's drivers and shit at that point. when it does boot - uninstall as many of your systray applications as possible - also get some spyware/anti virus stuff to clean it up.. turn sys restore off beforehand.... u never know... i might bail back to yours sunday AM for some tea and give frazzled tech support....
start - run - msconfig goto the startup tab and see how much shit is loading up when your machine boots up. Clear the shit you dont need booting up and see if that helps.
will give it a try later on... if it doesnt work.. i'll bundle you into a taxi on sunday.. and u can be sick again.. (bigger bathroom this time  )
Boot using the XP cd.. Launch recovery console.. Type CHKDSK /R Almost always works for problems like this..
