Genix Update January 08 Genix Update January 08 2007 produced some top tunes and electric DJ sets from Genix… and 2008 looks to be bigger & better… On the DJ front Genix was announced as the new resident DJ for the legendry ‘Passion’ and has given him one of the biggest platforms to perform on alongside the biggest DJ’s in the world. Genix picked up some massive support with his productions in 2007 with tracks featuring at all major clubs and festivals across the globe… and some massive support notably on BBC Radio 1 from Judge Jules who has also tipped Genix for big things in 2008. He recently featured in his recent show with a interview and showcase mix alongside Richard Durand, Ali Wilson and Nic Callaghan. This mix will soon be available on his website.. He also hit some big compilations including Armin Van Buuren's ASOT year mix and Cosmic Gates B2B3 on Black Hole Recs… On the production side of things 2007 saw releases on Armada (Coldharbour Records & Club Elite) with remixes for M.I.K.E. and his huge Markus Schultz – Fly To Colors. Genix was also given a guestmix on Markus’s Global DJ Broadcast. Also he produced one of the biggest remixes of the summer with his mix of Peter Gelderblom – Waiting for which got a release on Ministry Of Sound’s DATA records….. Genix also now signed over to Spinnin’ Records released his debut tune on sub label ‘Reset’ with his track titled ‘Phused’ which has been hammered by Eddie Halliwell & Armin to name a few…The follow up to this will be released in early ’08 titled ‘Piranha’ with some huge remixes. To my knowledge this bloke has never contributed anything to this board other than his spam. We've never had a comment or even just a smiley out of him unless its on a post bumping one of his threads. He's only ever posted in "The Banter" once, and that was (yes you guessed it) to spam his little tits off. It's not like JanineGC (who seems quite happy to answer stuff in FAOS or on GC threads whether she posts them or not). This bloke does nothing except use this board for his own agenda - to push his own nights and artists. At least he's stopped bumping, before all of this his posts got in the way of legitimate and interesting threads (local, national or otherwise). Last time I checked the point of "The Music" forum was for discussion of music and DJs, not for e-promoters to plug their artists. Surely if one (or more) of the existing members of this board were interested in Genix's productions it would have been mentioned already? I don't have a problem with people posting about artist they like, or tracks/albums they like (David Lee's post for example), or tracks/albums they've produced (Che/Steve Linney's most recent posts). This post doesn't fit any of those. It's not like the bloke has just released a track and wants to get some exposure for it. It's just a load of hyped up bollocks.
maybe people now WILL look into his productions or mixes? it's how u view the forums - i see it as where people discuss music, however they're introduced to it - it's a fine line to draw and since we've reviewed the rules but i think it'scalmed things down. This board is too insular sometimes which has always been to it's detriment - but i'm glad it is STILL going despite the death of Promise over 2 years ago cause i still use the music forum everyday. i'm not sure why i've gone off on a tanget.... i think the point is people are pissed off with your spamming of this board in general - it's only a small, local board nowadays and with people traveling less to gigs, coalville nights are less relevant. You only post on here to advertise something of yours yet give nothing back. some smaller nights and board members PAY towards the running cost of this board - thats who feel hard done by. maybe if u offered something back or even join in discussion and became a part of the board - people wouldn't get as pissed - it's not difficult.
your post above has nothing to do with genix's future releases (it doesn't even concern a current one!). Its a load of self-gratuitous hype. If you posted it with a link to a snippet of one of his future releases or one of his current tracks doing the rounds then you might get a better reception to the post! Its not this one post thats hacked people off but your continual spamming of the events forum, and when you dont get any replies to your event you bump it to make sure it stays in the top page. Stop bumping threads. Pretty much everyone reads all the subforums on here, if they don't post a response, it means noones interested. Everyone else on here contributes to the board - they either pay for its upkeep, or donate a few guesties for competitions, or they even just reply to existing topics and keep the banter going. You do none of the above. And I suspect this isn't the only board you run your pluggin and advertising on. Thats why you get so much grief.
i can imagine thats the case, free promotion of anything is always good, however in such cases as JanineGC, although she is obv a promoter, actually takes into consideration peoples questions. but even then i havent noticed anyones interests in emporiumpromotions posts, so therefor do one, fuck off and more importantly.... ...genix isnt that good
u heard him play then? and the leading djs in the world would disagree im afraid. his music features in many of their dj sets and national radio stations. i understand about the contributions.... but there is a events page on this board and im simply stating a event..... i dont see too much wrong with that... im sorry if i offended anyone as it was non intended... i was simply contributing to a page on your board.
