GATECRASHER CLASSICS @ THE WORKS, BIRMINGHAM – 28.1.06

Gatecrasher have announced a series of Gatecrasher Classics Album Tour Events for 2006 at venues in Sheffield, Leeds & Birmingham. The series kicks off at the 2,500 capacity Works venue on Broad Street, Birmingham on Saturday 28th January; with JFK, John OO Fleming, the Thrillseekers, Riley & Durrant, Stevie G, Fubar and a live PA from Warrior. The event follows on from the sellout show at the same venue in December 2005.

The recent Classics events in Sheffield, Birmingham and Leeds at the end of 2005 were truly awesome. News of tickets being traded for up to a £150 on EBay for the Sheffield event (that sold out ridiculously quickly) give some indication of just how popular the Classics events are. With sales of Gatecrasher Classics Albums pushing over half a million it in 2005 it is hardly surprising that the album tours have followed suit on popularity.

The memories and moments experienced by everyone who was a part of the last 10 years have to be recreated – and rebuilt well. Gatecrasher has left everlasting memories in thousands of clubbers across the globe. Eddie Halliwell’s debut at the club may be yours; you may been brought to your knees as Paul Van Dyk delivers the set of his life at the Summer Soundsystem; you may remember the Chemical Brothers raising 25,000 pairs of hands at the Don Valley Stadium on the turn of the millennium Itwillalwaysbewithyou; you may remember the intense lazer / smoke system inside the Republic as the chilling vocals of Sarah McLachlan join thousands of others in rejoicing ‘Silence’. They’re all precious, they’re all to be treasured, they’re all back on the agenda for 2006!

The DJ’s have to be of epic proportions. The effort has to be made. The venue, the décor, the aura created has to give respect and take a look back to the original hedonistic Gatecrasher phenomenon. Theywillalwaysbewithyou.

Gatecrasher resident JFK is one of the hardest working and prolific trance DJ’s to date. Having juggled an extensive gig diary that has seen him travel around the globe, production for the likes of Y2K and Mondo and running Midlands mecca ‘Passion’, more recent times have seen Jason celebrate the first birthday of his own ‘Live and Loud’ night, as well as playing a prominent role in Gatecrasher’s recent success. Some argue that his classics sets are the pick of the bunch – we’ll leave you to decide.

Coping with a bustling party schedule, taking care of his own ‘JOOF Recordings’ and filling his commitments on his Ministry Of Sound Radio show could be said to be enough workload for John OO Fleming. However, when you consider his 20 year existence in the dance music scene, you can bet that his performance at this event will be nothing short of absolute sublime classic after classic!

The Thrillseekers’ (also known as Steve Helstrip) new production outing ‘By Your Side’ has a lot to live up to. ‘Dreaming Of You’ and ‘Synaesthesia’ are two of the biggest trance classics to date. Steve’s new ‘Night Music Volume 1’ is also sure to add to the excitement of yet another major headliner at a Classics event.

Warrior (also known as Michael Woods)’s live PA will be much anticipated for the performance of his self-named ‘Warrior’ outing that destroyed dance floors across the globe. Michael has also remixed the likes of ‘Skydive’ and is a high-flying feature on many trance compilations, including Gatecrasher’s own.

Any promoters wanting to host a ‘Gatecrasher Classics’ party at their venue / night should contact Dean Webster on 0114 2526110 for further information.
