    Signed for Man City

Its got to be all about the ££'s, came out last season and said he wanted to leave to play CL football. Man City arent even in Europe and he has given up on europa cup football with Villa leaving one of the top young sides in the country to go there?

A very sad state of affairs IMO, and an indication of how the game is heading these days.

Aye, shame he's moved as it's a clear case of the £££'s.

He's not worth anywhere near £20m imo. Liverpool had him sussed when Villa were even asking for £18m.

I'd be happy if he went to City so we didn't sign him.
I'd rather have Alonso at Liverpool, he is good though, versatile as fuck.

i live with a villa fan who is devastated by this. completely about the money, i don't see why he would leave a club he is captain of, which is improving and playing european football next year, to go to one which isn't, and thus far has been all talk since their massive takeover.

    I'll 2nd that...

Some of the signings there attracting/throwing money at look as tho there a fair few seasons from remotely imaging what Chelski did when Abramovich (ms) came in.

Yeah there signing players now which will get them competing for uefa cup spots not champions league spots because they still cant attract the very best players so its going to be a long process

A big move would have been to go to Liverpool, at the minute going to City is a step backwards for his career (but obviously a giant leap forward for his bank balance).

strange transfer this... you'd have thought the money hes made in his career (how long has he been playing man?!?!?!) he would have wanted a few trophies to go with it, hes more likely to win stuff at Villa than he is City, Madness!!!

liverpool didnt bid you fucking mugs so how could he have "gone there"

hes been at villa for 12 years starting on peanuts and working his way up.

a footballers payday is the 20% of a transfer fee they get, hence a move ANYWHERE is required by players around the age of 30 that have been at one or two clubs for life.

great move for city and barry, if i was a player theres one two other clubs id rather go too at this moment in time, big things could be going to happen at city
