Gabbiadini hangs up boots Hartlepool striker Marco Gabbiadini has brought his illustrious 18-year career to an end on medical advice. Gabbiadini, 36 on Tuesday, has failed to recover from a knee injury which required surgery in November. He scored 273 goals in 791 games in a career with started at York and took him to Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Derby, Birmingham, Oxford, Stoke, Darlington and Northampton before arriving at Victoria Park last summer on a free transfer
