G5 anyone ? I am thinking about buying a G5 as it is what I am using at college. Are they superior to the pc ? What sort of spec will I be looking for to run Reason, Logic etc? many thanks Boosha :chill:
money wont be a problem as my mam is wanting a new system and she wont be fussed what we get as long as she can email a type up her teaching stuff. I really dont know what the advantages of macs are and would like to know if anyone can help me !!! than/q Boosha :chill:
i dont personally follow the whole 'macs are great' arguement. for the most part there aint anything you can do on there that you wont be able to do on a pc. also, pc's do have far more in general... macs are nice systems and do what they do well, but unless you are doing specialist work that requires use of a mac, or you just want a nice looking block to sit in your house, get a simliarly priced pc and you will be set. and ive posted this twice already, but go watch it. http://www.promisealways.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27339&highlight=apple
Basically the mac will KICK THE ARSE out of the pc....they are fast as fuck....they can emulate pc's quicker than the equivelant pc cud do...work that 1 out! :laugh:
ha, ha yes it's pretty.........but it also never crashes, runs like shit of a stick, and also runs Logic Pro (which PC's don't).
I must say I am enjoying the fact that running both reason and logic pro at college as slave and master they dont crash. my pc sucks at the mo with only 256 RAM..... Mac in lead by 60/40 now.
im an avid PC user.... only touched macs at colleg/uni bout 4 year ago ... however... MACS RULE by spec. Far superior processors and bus speeds (its the bus speeds which outrun the PCs by trillions..cant think off top of me head what they are) Id have one now if i could afford (or find hacked) all the software i need and thats the downside.... most people buy pcs as they know they can get cracked software so easily..and unless you know a sly lecturer at uni prepared to lend you the software for yer Mac then yer fucked. and MAC OS X is far superior than shitty XP. Im hating my PC at the moment..
