    future of trance

everone been saying for ages at trance is dead but ive got to say i think it is just gona be massive again.

give a year or not even that long when lookat all the new producers that are coming through with new sounds i picked three people as examples cos i think they have three tottaly mint sounds of trance.

phynn - what a bloke he is since i heard escdape i new he was going to be massive it is just what id call lush trance and you look at his next releases out next month lucid with soltitude on the b side then hes just remixed tiesto adaigo for strings along with fred baker and dj danjo and rob styles he will be massive.

john o`callaghan - well what can you say i think he is already an absolute legend to be fair love his productions like the bass on them is just right id say. i can only see john getting better and better like with tunes like mannix - mercury and restricted motion which are getting played by everone so :king: and with that remix of sophir suger call of tomorow unbelivable id say:love:.

marc van linden - hes not exactly what id call new but hes forced people to take notice with being signed to vandit hes got that banging bass beat which can kill you in a club his two remixes of marcos cosmic string and just for a day. hes also got some of his own tunes that are fantastic in am to pm and LH3293 in the words of PVD this guy will massive for years to come. also check out motu visual drive (MVL mix). Not forgetting his mix of For an Angel.

there are other djs who are making trance sounding mint again but we could go on for ages heres a thew.

it depends what u mean by big again??
the top 3 djs in the world ranking are trance (which i disagree with) so really it cant get much bigger, its the crowd thats killing it not the music.

trance crowds in most places are just crap, promise being a good example of that, good djs will be booked and noone will turn up, then they winge that they're getting nothing new, and wont go out again until the night books someone they want to see.

well they'll have to realise that unless they start going more regularly and backing nights the night wont have the money to take risks looking elsewhere.

Trance has a future, but i dont think its going to have one outside of major cities and clubs until clubbers stop chasing the mega mega stars so much.

When people start to have less money to spend, they will start looking to local nights and enthusiastic quality dj's and promoters with their hard earned money, instead of spending it on massive arena gigs or trips away.

They talent is there, all things seem to need is tastes to change and people to become more regionally focused.

As far as the music is concerned, i have to say theres some really great tunes this year so far ... and all of them havent been trying to be the next big thing with massive breakdowns, builds and whatever.... I'd like to see things more stripped back and driving, and less 'Kevin and Perry'

.... I think essential mixes like Jon O Birs and Matthew Dekays are the future of trance ?

i think trance is Poor at the moment IMO!

Theres a few decent tracks knocking about but thats about it, the rest is just average! There was no need for the new remixes of 'Adagio for Strings' Either. i Do agree that John O'callaghan is on fire at the moment, his remix of 'Call of Tomorrow' is Awesome! but he has produced some Poor'er tracks too, like his remix of 'The Passion' and 'We're all here Together'.

IMO the labels knocking out relatively decent tracks lately have been Somatic Sense, Electronic Elements & Monster Tunes. A state of Trance have been a bit 'Hit and miss' lately, and Anjunabeats have just been releasing very bland and boring tracks.

Trance will pick up again, there will be some corkers coming out nearer summer tho methinks:)

thats a class point, ive seen some amazing djs playing small nights at bar BHT vuzz etc, then ill go to a club and it'll be packed for a knob who cant even mix.
People need to branch out more and realise that these big name djs arent gonna mix forever, so show some backing people to local talent :)

Definately. There are some excellent trance DJ's and producers around they just aren't getting the support from the scene that they need to really make it.

The problem is that a high percentage of trance fans are only interested in going to see PVD, Armin, Tiesto...usually at the bigger events which cost more money and mean they can't afford to support those up and coming DJ's.

A lot of people blame the clubs for not "nurturing" new talent but it's all supply and demand at the end of the day.

Things are and always will be happening but sometimes more slowly than others.

I don't know if I would say it's the future of trance...but IMO the Ben Lost / Lost Language sound is going to be massive.

thats what im saying mate, but unfortunately up and coming djs wont fill a venue like foundation, which is why small nights like vuzz and twisted are doing a good job of getting them noticed. I just think its about time that people stopped looking mainstream and started backing these nights also, if they call themselves real fans of the music their arent any better places to go where the djs give 110%.
    :)

same here, its a really hard one for promoters i think, which is why i doubt i could hack it. Small night promoters who love the music know what people want to hear, so they go out their way and take risks to get the djs hoping people will back them up, but its not always the case.
the bigger club promoters maybe still like the music but cant take risks incase they dont fill the club, so they book big name djs hoping to pull a crowd, people yet again dont turn up.
i just hope everyone realises the whole music scenes gonna go down the shitter unless they start backing clubs somewhere, downloading the music off direct connect isnt gonna keep the scene going.

people need to start sizing down venues too!

aim for an intimate 250/300 sized crowd in a packed room rather than all these arena/charver club nights where you have to draw in the dregs of society to scrape a profit together

Without sounding like a 'brown noser' I'd have to say Luke being one of the biggest prospects...

His sound can/will mature into bigger and better things. His mix of Aedena will be massive, I can see it getting big airtime from Armin, Ferry etc...
