Cup double on the cards for the Boro!

I can remember going to the U-19 semi-final against Arsenal a couple of seasons ago... A Brad Jones blooper put Arsenal through and I was on Boro TV with me head in me hands! :D

    LMAO

Did you not go to the final last year against Man Utd? Was a good match, we were unlucky with their first goal but came back well

Unfortunately not... don't get to many matches at all now due to uni and money:( Will be back to the hardcore next season! :D

We seem to have some good youngsters coming through, just hope some of them can make the first team. Having a good youth set-up is only worthwhile if there is an end product... i.e. STAMPY!!! :D

There are some shocking examples of how wrong it can go - Stamp, Ormorod, Campbell. Tho some of the recent players are looking like they could fullfill the potential - Davies, Downing, Parnaby, Morrison.

Tho wish one of them was a striker lol

Stampy is a legend... didn't get a chance under Robson, either that or the pies got the better of him! I remember every season being the season that campbell would come good. And ormerod had that spell where he looked fantastic in the first div, then just disappeared. And baker and harrison too, and is stockdale slowly going the same way?

As for davies, v impressed with him... watched him in the summer for england... looks the part. Downing is playing tonight against united at old trafford, enough said. Always liked parnaby. Then there are the players who are just starting to push through... like morrison, dove and gulliver. We will just have to see :D

Youth football results are a zero indicator to the "Future Of Football". The prime example was in 1993 when a Leeds team that had Whealn,Forrester,Sharp,Tinkler etc beat a Man Utd team that had Scholes,Beckham,Gillespie,Nevilles etc.

    Another prime example -

Scottish youth team that got to the final of the 89 World Championships only to be beaten by a team of 30+ aged Saudi Arabians.

Players I remember that went on to do anything were …

    Brian O’Neil – (ex celtic midfielder/centre half – Pish!!)
Paul Dickov – (Several clubs – Pish!!)
Gary Bollan – (ex Rangers full back – Pish!!)
Marshall – (Gordon’s brother – played for Arsenal)
Neil Murray ( ex Rangers midefielder – Pish!!)

Coached by Craig Brown as well I think.
