They say 3 is the magic number...... and 3 will be the amount of magical years FUTURE will be celebrating on April 4th 2010.

2007 - was the year in which what started as a dream for myself and denney after clubbing & djing across the country & ibiza... became reality. an event which started off bi - monthly at ROUGE in Middlesbrough, in conjuction with NAKED/DUSTED under the name FUTURISM on the 2nd saturday of the month against the might retro.... which made some ppl think we were mad!! however after inviting first guest and long time friend BUCKLEY (back2basics) the event went off with a bang and helped raise a few heads in town to a sound they hadnt experienced at the Cornerhouse. along came our 2nd event (which holds special memories to myself, as on the morning of the event my son was born) with another 2 long time friends and stewards to the scene TRISTAN DA CHUNA (back2basics) & LEE PENNINGTON (riff raff) which had a few hundred ppl shouting scrinse along to SUDUKO KID.... after this event we knew we were onto something special... especially with the sound in middlesbrough slowly gaining an underground following after such ppl as RIFF RAFF, STE GUTHRIE, FATDOG, THE GHETTO & the lads from KAHUA etc etc trying to push these sounds since the day they touched a turntable. without these ppl we wouldnt of been able to make a dent in the local scene.
with the rest of the year going well with 2 other parties with RALPH LAWSON, CHRIS DUCKENFIELD, we had been asked by the club to push forward and spread our wings and make the vent monthly. we then finishing the year with original guest BUCKLEY, and the birth of a new FUTURE resident STE GUTHRIE which helped rubber stamp our existence.

2008 - the year started the way it ended with LAYO & BUSHWACKA! playing till 6 in the morning to a packed out cornerhouse, and all the hard work put in by all parties in the underground scene during the previous year helped make this a special event and truely show middlesbrough taste for a techno style sound! the rest of the year seen put on some of the scenes biggest and best guests such as NIC FANCUILLI, PAUL WOOLFORD, ANDREW WEATHERALL..... and in turn djs who hadnt ever stepped a foot into middlesbrough such as CLAUDE VON STROKE, EWAN PEARSON, SERGE SANTIAGO & DAN GHENCIA. the summer seen a new additional to the FUTURE family in the shape of SEAN PEACOCK, who had been giving the after party scene a kick up the ass.... making ppl dance non stop during sets that lasted longer than 12 hours round at the infamous LITTLE LOCO's where he show cased his versatility and genuine love for music playing anything from break beat to techno to house to hip hop... sean made his debut at the FUTUREs summer boat party which ended been a great day and night event... even with ERIC CANTONA shouting abuse at JO MILLS. SEAN then went onto warm up during the summer for SERGE SANTIAGO & DAN GHENCIA.
the year was capped off by been invited to host the bedroom at BACK2BASICS on new years eve.... alongside CLAUDE VON STROKE & DIRTY DISCO... a night that couldnt be turned down!! with a 50 seat coach sold out also, what could possibly go wrong?? after half an hour of waiting till 8 o clock at the roundel pub and after 1001 phone calls, TIM (walking disco) LOMAS and sean drove upto the bus depo HQ only to find the place empty with the shutters down... we then knew the bus wasnt coming!! however all 50 ppl showed the spirit of ACID HOUSE which had been shown 20 years earlier and still make the trip to leeds one way or another to help create one hell of a party!! with the room staying busy all night and a hundred ppl all with animal masks..... we knew this was why we all loved house music!!

2009 - was a quiet year, however still managed to bring man of the moment JAMIE JONES to middlesbrough.... and also celebrate our 2nd birthday with original guest BUCKLEY... which ended up been a 24 hour party, going on till the next evening at seans house!! during the year we also managed to hold down a residency at BACK2BASICS, host rooms in IBIZA at EDEN for PETE TONGS - WONDERLAND & PRIVLEDGE for TIESTOS event.... and of course another year wouldnt be complete without a boat party to top up our sun tan........... in the middle of OCTOBER!
the year pretty much finished again how it started by hosting our annual christmas shindig with STEVE LAWLER, where it showed our residents can punch with the best of them.... with man of the match going to DENNEY not the guest dj!! and again another new years trip to play at basics however this time without the hassle of any buses!!

2010 - showing our intentions for the future (no pun intended) with first guests of the year been the worlds biggest dance band FAITHLESS performing live at Tall Trees and how could i forget 2010 is the year we will see a dream come true in the booking of ZABIELA.... again we will be looking at partying in ibiza, a good few boat parties of course!! and a few more one off events at tall trees!! so i hope to see you all again for another magical year!!

this year looks very healthy for the TEESSIDE music scene indeed, RIFF RAFF are still pushing boundries and starting off with a true legend in TERRY FRANCIS. residency around the world for GOW & PENNO with ZOO PROJECT and of course big releases for GOW.... BOWENS label - LUNA RECORDS with strong solid 12" been released... ADAM SHAW rising through the ranks, TIM WEEKS also staking his claim with release after release, CAPTURE FM showing no signs of slowing down, BURNSKI of course making the scene his own at the moment... especially with a new live show currently been test drove, TOM KING's spunk record label which is also getting STE GUTHRIE into the studio, many releases lined up for DENNEY. IAN BLEAVINS residency continues at WeLove.... LOST MY DOG records still a strong label in the deep house scene, PAUL BARDSLEYS - PETE's 50th one of londons most talked about parties...... this shows all the hard work has finally paid off!!

with big thanks to the riff raff guys for running the message board, all the ppl who have came and danced, all the residents for hard work and making ppl dance, my mum, all the clubs who have helped us spread our message of music, all the djs who have played and provided the sound track to our events, thanks to seans mum & dad for leaving the house in our hands to party & all the other ppl who have helped carry on the party once the doors are shut, all the ppl we have meet along the way, and anyone else that doesnt fall into them categories

    thanks
