    Fucked PC

Right a need to find out whats wrong with this PC as its the newest one in the house yet causes the most shit ?!?

At first i thought it was the Firewall, i have turned that off at times and the problem still comes up :(

Basically i am on the net, i look thru say the board pages and type in a new web address at the top and all of a sudden the page will stay on the one i am on and the message :

"The operation has timed out whilst trying to connect too (web address here)"

I then cant access anything at all and have to re-start the PC to get to anywhere i was and also the sign back into Msn Messenger - its a right fanny on as well when someones using Ebay and this happens

    Currently i am using :

    AVG Free Anti Virus
    Sygate Firewall
    Pop Up Stopper Pro
    Firefox

Has anyone heard of this before, can anyone shed any light on this as well ?!?!

I have about 20GB of music on here, i check for viruses every day as well wi there being so much music on here but to be fair with a 200GB HD having what i have shouldnt be a problem.

Its really starting to piss me off cos happens up to 10 times a night leading to all the piss farting about

    Cheers folks

Try removing pop-up stopper, it's not necessary with Firefox (FF blocks pop-ups). What site(s) is it that you're trying to access when it pops up with the "The operation has timed out..." thingy?

It can be any site basically, i will delete the pop up stopper anyways but i cant see it being the problem :(

I could go to go back to the main menu for instance on the promise board after reading a thread and it will pause then that cunting messsage appears or say i was on NUFC.com and went to BBC.co.uk then it will freeze on the one i am on, say that message then wont let me on owt else :(

Hmm.... summinck to try, may not work though, but worth a shot: Open a new tab in firefox, type "about:config" (no quotes) in the address bar and hit enter, then scroll down to a value called 'browser.xul.error_pages.enabled', right-click on it and select 'toggle', so that the value changes to 'true', then close the tab, re-start the browser, and see what happens.

Did you still get the pop-up though?

One other thing, are you using Firefox 1.0.3? If not, you'll probs see a little circle with an arrow at the top-right of the browser, click it to download the newest version, that may help...

Your internet connection is probably fucked?

If theres no viruses or anything like that and its just a connection then it suggests your modem keeps loosing the connection.
