They're not minimising to the system tray are they? Check the bottom right of the taskbar, click the little arrow to expand the system tray.
Try holding down alt and pressing tab to see if you can switch to them, you should be able to if they're on your taskbar. Also try right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting 'show the desktop' then right-clicking again and selecting 'show open windows'. If they don't appear after that I'm stumped.
Do they definitely not have icons in the system tray? Have you tried using those? Are any other taskbar functions going slowly? Have you tried a reboot as well? You haven't just finished playing a memory intensive game or summinck?
Try ctrl+alt+delete, clicking processes tab, and end the explorer.exe process. Then go to File-->New Task (Run) and type in "explorer.exe" (no quotes). See if that fixes them, if so then you may have to alter the priorities of the msn, explorer and itunes processes (ie set them to above normal or higher). Did you just install msn and itunes, or hasd this came out of the blue? If it's came out of the blue, did you install anything else shortly beforehand?
Well answer my bleeding questions then! Also, when you do ctrl+alt+del are the msmsgs.exe and ipodservice.exe (or whatever the differing itunes services are called) processes running (in the process tab)? And what does it say to their memory and cpu usage? Have you tried uninstalling one, rebooting, and seeing if the other one works? And vice-versa? Are you using the latest versions of msn and itunes? Did you just upgrade them? And you are sure you're virus free ( )? Use Housecall to be on the safe side. Lot's of questions but my psychic powers are waining...
