Freaky Dancing change: PHIL HARTNOLL (Orbital) added to Rm 2 + SLAM main rm THIS FRI

    ***

    Dear Freaky Dancers,

We've gone and pulled off a bit of a coup, which means that this Friday's Freaky Dancing at the Cosmic Ballroom will now not only feature a 4 hour set in the main room from the legendary SLAM, and a full live electronic set from Let's Go Outside (SOMA), but also now in the upstairs room we're well excited to announce that we will be hosting the official aftershow party for PHIL HARTNOLL's LONGRANGE live show which is taking place at the SAGE Gateshead earlier in the evening.

This means the backroom will now feature a DJ set from PHIL HARTNOLL, formerly one half ORBITAL - arguably the best electronic band ever, plus an ableton set of his new LONGRANGE stuff joint with his new partner in crime NICK SMITH.

We will also be bringing in a shit hot PA for the upstairs, and creating some extra dancefloor space up there (by moving some of the sofas outside etc).

So to recap, the line up for Freaky Dancing this Friday is now...

FREAKY DANCING @ THE COSMIC BALLROOM
    FRIDAY 29TH FEB 10.30pm - 4am

Main Room // Hosted by SOMA Records
    SLAM - 4 hour set
LET'S GO OUTSIDE - live // a picnic with the hunters album tour // USA

Room 2 // OFFICIAL LONGRANGE AFTERSHOW PARTY featuring
    PHIL HARTNOLL - DJ Set
    LONGRANGE - ableton set
    FUNSIZE JONNY
    SUADE
    ELECTROFRIED

a limited number of advance tickets are still available for just £10 + bf from www.skiddle.com/tickets and we'd strongly advice you to get an advance ticket if you're planning to not get there til later on.

Alternatively, we will be operating a guaranteed entry paying guestlist up until midnight, or until 1am for those who're either working or going to the sage gig earlier for anyone who adds their name to the confirmed guestlist on facebook, or email names to admin@freakydancing.net

Entry price on the door is still £10 nus // £10 all before 11pm // £10 with a longrange live ticket stub from the sage // £12

Last time longrange and phil hartnoll played for us at the university was one of the best nights we've ever done, so to have them playing in the backroom at the cosmic plus slam and let's go outside in the main room should guarantee this night will go off big time.

There are still a few tickets left for the full live 12 piece band longrange show at the sage earlier in the evening on friday (9pm-midnight) priced at £10 adv / £12 door. We'd strongly recommend you take this opportunity to see this full live show while it's here as by all accounts it's pretty stunning - not as dancey as orbital, but still class as you'd expect from one half of Orbital.

Tickets for the live show from this >>>link<<<

nice one... yeah me too. If you listen carefully to one of the youtube clips of orbitals last glasto show I'm sure you can here me in one of the quiet bits shouting out 'don't go orbital' or something like that... I were proper gutted.

still, that last party at the uni was almost like they'd not gone away for an hour or so, particularly if you had double vision at that point...

thanks to everyone who came down on Friday, I think it's safe to say we were back on form, with loads of people saying it was the best night out they've had for ages.

Slam and let's go outside were both top notch, and Phil Hartnoll & Longrange was something else upstairs - not so much a dj set as a full live electronic set

we'll have some pics up shortly once the inthepicture people get round to uploading them.
