Freaky Dancing takes to the road for part 2 of our 5th Birthday celebrations as we launch a new bimonthly residency at The Music Rooms, Sunderland.

The Music Rooms is a newly opened purpose built independent live music venue that have asked Freaky Dancing to come in and run the only late licenced dance event to take place in the venue, once every couple of months. The venue has a 250 capacity over 2 floors with one big open main room upstairs, and a seperate bar and 2nd smaller dance room / chill out room downstairs. It is kitted out with 2 excellent sound systems on both floors, and we'll be bringing in full lighting, lasers, visuals and decor to transform the venue into a perfect little undergorund club venue.

We're mainly aiming this night at pulling in people from Sunderland, though we will be running minibus taxi's back fom the venue to newcastle at the end of the night for anyone who's travelled across (it's right next to Stadium of Light Metro for anyone travelling out).

Essentially as we see it, Sunderlands got pretty much fuck all in the way of decent dance based nights out, and we can't believe there aren't at least a couple of hundred people in the whole of Sunderland who'd come out to a properly run party on their doorsteps rather than paying the taxi fare back from newcastle. We may be mad as several people have suggested, but fuck it we're gonna show Sunderland how to party.

Stay Up Forever mainman Chris Liberator will be sticking around from the Friday night to headline Saturday's party, so the night's sure to be rocking.

Formed by the Liberator DJ's, Chris, Julian and Aaron, the Stay Up Forever Collective is arguably the most influential group of dj's, producers and labels in the UK's techno & hard dance scene, being almost singlehandedly responsible for developing and pushing the London Acid Techno sound in the mid-late nineties, before branching out to cover the range of minimal, electro, tech house, techno and of course the acid techno sound that made them famous.
Stay Up Forever Collective owns and runs 19 labels, including the eponomous Stay Up Forever, Cluster, Hydraulix, Power Tools, and R.A.W. which between them have been responsible for close to a thousand releases!

Chris Liberator is 1/3 of the Liberator Sound System, co-founder of Stay Up Forever and owner of Cluster, Maximum Minimum, Yolk and Wah Wah labels, a producer of numerous underground techno classics & a DJ who's played with everyone from Spiral Tribe onwards while always retaining his underground punk ethos.

Chris and Urban Merlin - hope you can make it, the support will be much appreciated as we're going out on a bit of a limb here. It's a cool little venue though and I reckon it should be a class night out with lots of messyness round the edges

do people who go to the friday night one get a discount for continuing through to saturday?

yeh mate its a really nice venue,my two mates own the place,i was part of the renovation team....what a job it was too..

we should be hitting sunderland with a fair bit of promo over the next 10 days so fingers crossed it should be pretty busy - already been over and done most of the postering and kick started the flyering mission earlier in the week.
