    Foundation...

Since the departure of Shindig, Stonelove & Wax-On in the summer (and more recently the sad departure of Promise) it has been no secret that Foundation has been through a lean spell (V lean at times), However with the new nights doing so well it appears that Foundation is re-establishing itself in Newcastle's now more varied and competitive clubbing market.

The more cynical of you have your opinions about the genre/style of nights that you would prefer Foundation to run, but I don't believe anyone wanted to see the demise of a club that was home to some of the best nights' clubbing that some of you have had.

As for Digital, hats off to what was the most impressive opening line-ups that Newcastle has ever seen. They happily hold the mantle for the high profile Dj led nights, and Shindig will continue to do well because of it's history and how every clubber over 21 grew up loving it.

    Foundation... What does future hold?
A new approach was the answer.

Smile still plugging away every Monday,
Brained on Friday's, the busiest club night for last few weeks, hammering numbers everywhere else.
Wise-Buddha's amazing launch party on Sat with over 1,100 in created the atmosphere and sounds that Foundation has been missing since the summer.
Not forgetting the local promoters and talent such as Freaky Dancing and Kerry James, who are still working their magic with one off nights. Also Mark Deakin and Maison Moog provided some of the best live music seen at the club (Pendulum, Freestylers, Barbara Tucker, Etc), so expect to see more live local & name talent appearing in the future.

I just get the feeling that Foundation has found it's feet again,
and looking forward to see what the future holds

yeah you're probs right but it doesnt make what he said untrue.

i was one of the doubters of foundation but i do hope that it stays open and creates its own niche after the big nights' departure.

just dont agree with some of mark deakin's policies/attitiudes etc but its good to see its doing ok.

I don't understand why people are all so quick to be shit about foundation. That place was where I met so many of my best mates and where I first got into clubbing. The place completely changed who I am and I will always hope it does well and stuff...why are people so quick to slag it off?

its because people are fickle unfortunately!

I've only been to foundation a couple of times and i've always had a good night, think it will be a special place for many a person really. But there will always be those that are Too Kool for Skool and will just turn to the next thing and dismiss whatever has gone off a bit....they love it really though shhhhhhhh :D

Its not a case of slagging foundation off its a case of being truthful, i only ever went to foundation for promise and now promise is gone i wont be going there again unless they get a night on with djs of any genre that i would enjoy, however i cant really see that happening.

The new nights that are on there dont appeal to me in the slightest,

foundation is, was and always will be a great club

in the 5 years ive lived in newcastle i have had some amazing times there

i doubt i will go much now, purely due to the nights that are on now. 'get brained'- the name of the night is enough to put me off going

its a class club, people winged it didn't have enough lazers or whatever, fuck that, it was the underground dingy feel that made it good, hope the club does well :)

I didn't mean you, you live in Teeside obviously...I mean all the people who used to go there all the time and actually lick digitals arsecheeks (if it had them) all day long
