Doubt it. Hope not! Could do with a *proper* refurbishment though.

    Sally just told me.

Something to do with the owners and co-owners of Po-nana selling up?

Not selling up by choice!!!! What I read said it may sell off certain brands of clubs the group owns.

With S&N selling all its boozers now is the time build a up pub & club empire.

I read something about Po Na Na being in financial trouble.

Didnt sound like they were going down the pan or owt like that. But it said they would be closing some of their poorest peforming pubs and clubs. Doubt that would include Foundation, but i dunna.

I would imagine if the article was in the Journal they would mention Foundation in Newcastle. In the national newspapers they did not mention any individual clubs

I cant imagine it closing. Nightclubs (even ones that dont do that wellm which Foundation is not one IMO) are gold mines.

    END OF.

It was a national i read it in. So no mention of individual pubs / clubs.

Most likely it will be some of their late night bars that get the chop.

In fact i know how much rent they are paying for that one on Westgate Road and there is no way they can afford to cover those costs on the amount of trade they do there. No suprise if that one gets shut down.

    Foundation will be fine.

Is Foundation a PoNana club? I didn't know that... Fez in Hull is one too, and is probably going to be turned into Heaven & Hell (cheesy scally nightclub) according to the local newspaper :(

the worry isn't that foundation will close it's that it might be bought by someone who wants to take the club in a different direction, Ultimate Leisure is the worst case I'd say :(

    Nail on head!

It wont close. It is established. It has the necassary licences in place. They are difficult to get.

The worry is as Si says, someone shite will take it over and run it differently (and badly).

If that happens why don't we all put our pocket money together and buy the place?
