Forks Your boys got a nice little victory in the European Parliament yesterday...DNA records of 1m non-convicted UK citizens to be wiped off the DNA database within the next month or so. Winston Smith would be proud
Just while we're waiting for forks, the European Court have excelled themselves here and I was pleased with the strong wording of their judgement. The problem was that the government were struggling very hard to justify this. I saw Jaqui Smith banging on the other day about it 'helping to exclude the innocent from enquiries'. This of course is nonsense - if you have DNA evidence and a suspect who is not on the DNA database, you just test them, and discard it when they don't match. To retain a database like this for people who have simply been arrested, which means nothing, was outrageous. Good riddance.
yes! at last a win. thank god for the EU. our last bastion of freedom:clap: incidentally out of interest how many on here are on the DNA database? I am for one.
