    flv or swf?

I've got a video I want to put on a site which is currently in .flv format.

Someone has suggested I may be better off using .swf format instead... is this the case?

And also does anyone know any software or method i can use to convert flv --> swf??

all i know FLV is flash video - like YouTube - while swf is just standard flash anim. FLV probs has a few buttons for control.

as to which converts to what - get flash

    FLV is Flash Video Format.

To put it on your site you need to build a Media Player in Flash to play the video. There are a bunch of pre-sets in Flash that will help you with this, and if you do a quick search on the Adobe web site you'll probably find a tutorial to get you going.

You then embed the Flash media player, as a SWF file, into your web page and load the FLV file into the player using some actionscript.
