i basically had a bash at fixing it stupidly in the half hr before i went to leeds on friday.. left it all weekend.. tried again last night half asleep.. took a few too many cables out - cant remember where they went and now its dead.. i dont think kicking it was the best idea either.. i took out the dvd.. cdr.. hard drive 1 and 2.. and err something else.. its a kinda jigsaw puzzle for you geeks.. any ideas muchos appreciated since ive got a shit load of work to get done this week.. and its not gona happen ta in advance..
Right - Take out all the IDE Cables (Grey, flat, wide) and plug them in as follows : Look at the board where they plug in, next to the socket will be written IDE 0 or IDE 1 AND IDE 1 or IDE 2 (depends how the manu labels them... either 0 and 1 or 1 and 2) Connect the HARD DRIVE (set as master) onto the primary IDE controller (0 or 1) and then both your CDROMS onto the other IDE cable connected to the secondary IDE Controller (1 or 2) That should do it.
i'll give it a bash afetr 5-a-side later.. but it wont work and i'll kick it again and go out on the lash most likely.. then kick it when i come back in.. fackin machines eh? i think im just fucking it up so i can get a vaio finally (but will be devastated if ive lost my uni stuff and freelance gash.. )
