Firewire connection

    Are these connections not used anymore? is it old hat?

    i believe it was mint until they leapt from USB to USB 2.0 (nobody really pays attention but things like cameras and memory sticks are often USB 2.0 - Firewire became slower in comparison.

    It's still faster than USB2, it's just that USB is more widely supported and seems to be favoured for being easier to use and cheaper to put together.

    yeah i havemnt act used firewire but it was the next best thing on the horizon when i faded out of the geek scene a decade ago.... looks like usb 2 is the way to go even if its inferior.... just like mp3
