    How do I open a port on AVG Firewall? Ive tried every menu and cant find anything to do with ports

    I was not under the impression that AVG did a firewall, unless you have paid for it I would suggest downloading Kerio from Sunbelt, then looking here here to configure it for port forwarding.

    If you want to go with any other, just follow the link on the site for firewalling, so you can configure it.

    AVG firewall though?? :spangled:

    I managed to figure it out in the end, I was just being drunk and stupid.

    And yes, amazingly I have AVG antivirus with Firewall.

    Usually in home user software firewalls you define an actual program that is allowed access as opposed to individual ports

    did you pay for it? I was under the impression you can only get it that way, therefore thought it was unusual that someone would pay for its services.

    by the way, I strongly object to being called pet, a geordie colloquialism it may be, it implies that I am owned by someone.

    Isnt pet just short for petal tho? So in fact I was calling you the nicest part of a flower. Bit of a decent compliment if you ask me!

    does it not just ask you the first time that program tries to access the net and says do you want to create a rule for that program?

    Sorted it mate, It wasnt anything to do with the Firewall-it was in Internet settings.
